....how many total measurements do you end up with?
Or exactly WHAT are you measuring??

Thanks for any clarification you can provide.

All I do is bust waist and hips. Others (maybe the Curves people ) measure several other body parts. Don't know which ones exactly but to me the 3 basic measurements are the ones that count since those ore the ones having to do most of the clothes wearing!!!

I measure

Neck
Bicep (unflexed)
Chest
Waist
Hips
Thigh

The next time I measure I calculate the loss per body part (if there is one) and then add those losses up for my total inches lost during a specific time period. :)

I measure the following...

thigh
hips
waiste
chest
biceps

then I add them all up and subtract that number from my previous measurement total. That will give me total inches lost. Does that make sense?

I find measuring better than the scale...I wish I had started doing it from the start. I have Katholyn to thank for getting me to finally start doing it.

I measure waist, hip, tummy, chest area. I use my chart on my weight commander program that i have. If you'd like to see the program you can visit www.dwlz.com it's on the main page and you can download it for a trial then if you want to keep it send the money snail mail it's on honor system. It's great from graphing your weight it stays on your desktop and best of all it's password protected if you like.LOL It's 9.95 so i love it. You can make one copy of it for someone else to use for free. So mine and my husbands is on my desktop.

My program requires that I measure once a week the following:
Chest
Waist
Abdominal area (you know, where some of us may have that "inner tube" effect)
Hips

In addition, I also measure my upper arm (I guess the bicep area) and my thigh (I do the left of both of those because my left is slightly bigger than my right).

I really like that I have to measure the ab area because for me anyway, that's where I've been losing a lot of the initial weight.

LuvTigger, I call that intertube measurement the "belly button measurement"...LOL!!

At Curves they measure the following:

Bust
Waist
Abdomen (just below navel)
Hips
Thighs
Calves
Arms

Inches lost are calculate - but x2 for thighs, calves & arms

Hubby and I measure chest, waist and hips.

We do this once a week, Sunday mornings when we are weighing ourselves to update our Atkins Journals online.
