Sorry you had to cancel your vacation. I don't know the answer to your questions as I have never cancelled a Disney Vacation. Can you call and find out the status?
That sounds about right. I had to cancel our trip last summer, and it took between 2 and three weeks for the money to reappear in my account (debit payments).
Disney was wonderful! We experienced a serious illness that forced the cancellation about 10 days prior to travel. No trip insurance. Disney heard the situation, put me on hold and refunded all of our payments, including deposits, without one question from me. The agent told me she moved our travel date out, then cancelled, so no fees. The first thing we did when the doc said ok was to book a glorious trip in December. We paid almost twice the price, but it was worth every penny!
Sorry that you have to cancel, but it will be there when you are ready to go!
We recently cancelled a room-only ressie when we bought into DVC and decided to use points for those nights. The guy told me it could take up to two billing cycles to see the refund, but it only took a week. I think they give you the worst case scenario so you will be pleasantly surprised if the refund comes earlier!
I've had to get a couple of price adjustments over the past few months. Once it took 5 days. Once it took 2 weeks and 2 days. I'm not sure why it differs sometimes.
This is about the right time frame why banks do this I don't why but they do. Even Disney Visa hold on to it for days. I gotten my at times withing 24 hrs but I think that was just luck. Easy to have to charge show up on the account that day you charge but takes longer when you return
