When you are on holiday (vacation!)...

...do you send any postcards to friends or family?

I used to send quite a few once but have now got it down to only 3 - hurrah! I always leave it to the second week of our holiday as well so I have more to write as I never just put a few lines like: nice hotel, weather hot, wish you were here!

I do manage to get alot on the card, a mini trip report in themselves!

Do you bother sending any?

Although we sometimes beat them home

I like to send lots home. I print the address labels before we go, so that is one less thing to write.

I haven't sent nor received any postcards in years! I kinda feel funny sending them to people -- it seems to me to rub it in to them that you're on vacation and they're not.

I send almost daily postcards to my 2 dgrdd's. They love to get mail and they then can keep the postcards to see different places. That's why both dgdd's now want to go to Hawaii. They think it's great. Also, they are to young to be upset that they aren't on holiday except I guess that they don't think I should go anywhere without them.

I looooooooooove getting postcards, so I always tell my friends to send them to me when they travel. Only one friend is really good at it, and she travels all the time. So, I'll be sure to send some to her.

Send a few out but also send one to my DCherubs so that a week after we get home, they will get it and we can look back over what a great time we had!

One thing puzzles me though! What does dgdd's stand for? Is it darling grand-daughters?

I love to send postcards! I think it's fun to rub it in...because I usually am jealous of others when they go! I bring postcard stamps, addresses from home and send them a few days into the trip. Usually send one to work, now with a new job I don't know anyone well enough. Would they even know I wasn't at work? Maybe to my old job!

It was a good guess of mine after all!

We keep taking shorter trips so we would be home before they got them. Plus we usually take the laptop with us now so we'll e-mail photos to family right from the vacation.

I usually pick up lots of postcards on vacation as I collect them. Sometimes (like from Castaway Cay or Hell in the Cayman Islands) I'll mail them home to myself for the scrapbook.

Depends on how far from home we are going.

If we are going a fair way then yeah we send postcards, but if it's just up or down the coast then no we don't, as both the coasts are only an hour from home
