When you are home alone do you....

I don't close the door when I have to use the toilet... but I always close and lock the door when I shower... just in case someone comes home unexpectedly, weird huh?

I do the same thing! :) I guess I figure I'm just going to be in the shower a lot longer.

Never close the door when in the bathroom, but always do when in the shower. I guess I figure I will be fully clothed when exiting the bathroom after toilet use, but after a shower may walk around....ummmm...nude or semi nude and do not want to chance anyone seeing me :rolleyes2

No but then I don't close it when DP is home either :confused3

I was just talking to someone about this. I live with my dad. He goes to Florida for 3 months every winter. But I'm such a creature of habit, I close the door whenever I go to the bathroom. I don't lock it, but I do close it.

I don't shut it when I'm using the toilet but defintely when I shower. Has nothing to do with heat or steam (although a nice benefit). The darn dog loves to play in water. If I'm in the shower she will have most of her body draped over the edge playing in the shower spray and trying to lick the water off my body - yuck!! She's a large 10 month old puppy and has the discipline of a pack of unsupervised pre-schoolers. :lmao:

I don't close the door if dh is not home, sometimes I don't close it when he is home. As for other people forget it, no one comes by unless we invite them. :confused3

when home alone, its all open, when home with family the door is open a crack(maybe a little more) the only time it is completly closed is when company is over. (that way the cats are busy with others and you can be in peace in the bathroom.

If I closed it I would have the pugs scratching at it and whining. :rolleyes2

I always close the door home alone or not. If I didn't the dogs come in. One is quite old doesn't move very quickly anymore plus sometimes just doesn't listen when I tell him to move. Of course he lays down right against the shower door.

LOL me either. My bathroom is off the master bedroom though, so it's usually not a problem ;)

I never close our bathroom door. If I do, the dogs whine and the cats dig and stick their feet under the door. The zoo isn't worth it. I'm not sure I'd know how to go to the bathroom if I didn't have an audience. Besides, I'm comfortable with my family coming into the bathroom if they need something. I do shut my bedroom door if we have company though.

Sometimes my kids close their bathroom door though. Their bathroom is not connected to their bedroom like ours is, so it is a little more exposed. However, our policy is that you never lock a bathroom door. Instead, if a door is shut you knock and ask permission to enter. That way when DD needs something and DS is camped out on the toilet, he can give her permission to come in and get it. (Can you tell this has been an issue? LOL!)

I don't normally close the door unless A) DS is home or B) I'm doing #2. Gotta have some respect for the family. :teeth:

After a traumatic experience over the summer I do. I went into the downstairs guest bath which is off the foyer. Above our front door is a large window. I no sooner sat down when a head popped up in that window. I froze like a deer in the headlights. It was the handyman. I remembered that I had called the office regarding our porch light needing to be replaced. The bathroom light was off and I thought if I didn't make any sudden moves then perhaps he wouldn't notice me. I got off lucky that time, but now I have flashbacks whenever I go in that bathroom. :sad2:

I ALWAYS close the door. (again - the dog staring at me isn't much fun)

I only lock it if I'm doing #2. Even if home alone. Dh doesn't like to respect the locked door sometimes and will jimmy it open...hey - if he can stand the stink and the compromoising position...c'mon in! He doesn't call me Stinkerbelle for nothing.

omg...did I just SAY that?

DH NEVER closes the door...and with the open floor plan of our downstairs...sound travels! hehehe

I always close the door. There are too many people coming and going from my house at all hours.

My roommate in college learned the hard way that you should always close the bathroom door. She woke up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. It was like 4am on a Tuesday. She didn't close the door thinking that no one would be awake. Well, one of our apartment-mates walked in the front door. After that she knew that it was never safe.
