With 2 in hand to resell i dont know when prime time would be ?! DH says now i say wait 2 weeks any experts out there?

I would put one up right now with a 1 day auction and save one for later. Look at what the auctions are closing at - it is a frenzy. When the XBox came out, the highest prices were in the first week. (I'm not an expert, just giving my opinion).

I absolutely agree, get those babies listed NOW...the same kind of thing happened with the Elmos...the prices were sky high on the first couple of days...and then as they got more and more on there they started selling for less...mind you still a pretty penny...but still for a good amount. Either way you stand to make a nice profit.

I too, have a PS3. I have been looking through the current listings. Are there still guidelines that you have to take Paypal only? Almost every single one is Paypal. As a buyer, there is security in using Paypal, but as a Seller, it is risky. The buyer can receive it and then do a chargeback on their credit card.

As a seller accepting Payapl for a PS3, how are you protected? How do you plan to protect yourself?

Thanks!

Also be aware- I believe ebay is now restricting the resale to only 1 system per registered seller- so you would need 2 accounts to sell. They will also be limiting the sales by those only with high ratings(I saw this last night on the news-- but check it out to be sure) I would sell one right now, imagine the person that spent the night thinking they would get one and then didn't- they are the ones willing to pay top $$

I personally wouldn't have bought one to sell - but if you are going to do it, you should have already put one up. The sooner, the better, the prices will fall.

It's the same thing with pins at Disney, or anything else. There are already hundreds, actually it looks like thousands of PS3's on Ebay. And more will be shipped by the end of the year, it seems silly to pay so much when they will eventually be available.

they seem to still be going up in price on ebay. Search of ended auction some have gone over $4800 bucks. One now one later. Wait a week and sell both? Good luck you are going to make a bundle.

My son calls me from across the country where he is in school. He bought a space in line for 100.00 and was able to get the 20gb only. He thought he would make a killing  but I see some ending under 900.00 So there goes his theory...

Well, how much did he pay for the 20gb? add a hundred to that, take that away from 900 & he's sure to have made something.....

There are a few things you should do to protect yourself:

1. ALWAYS ship to a confirmed address only. If the person were to later claim credit card fraud and you had shipped to an unconfirmed address then PayPal would remove the funds from your account. Make sure you state in your auction you will only ship to a confirmed address.

2. Make sure you use signature confirmation on any items that go for $250 or more as PayPal will require it as proof of delivery in the instance the buyer claims they didn't receive it. Any other item, make sure you use delivery confirmation as they require that for all items under $250.

Oh I agree, but seems silly that he stood in line to resell. Of course, I asked him how were his classes the past few days :rolleyes1 to which I got no response. After the fees and paypal fees, he's lucky if makes 50 bucks. So silly.

I have listed mine and the auction starts Sunday 11/19 and will run until 11/26. DS has decided to list his when we get home from WDW on 11/26 and run it about 3 days. We'll see how it goes. I got the 20 GB, an extra controller and the Madden '07 game. DS got the 60 GB with the same extras. My goal is to make enough to cover the cost and purchase the Wii for youngest DS.

I agree. I couldn't believe the people with tents out in front of Target (and Target wasn't happy about it!) I can understand if someone is really wanting one for themselves. But there are THOUSANDS of people who spent a day, two days, or more sleeping overnight at the stores. For what? Not much, I bet (in many cases).

I am sure that there are a few people who will make quite a bit of money. But the newer listings don't look like they are selling for much - and putting one up now, I don't think you'd get so much for it. How many people are willing to pay thousands of dollars for something that will be eventually available?

Most are still going for $2-$3K at least from what I have seen. That a nice return on a $600 item.

Please be very careful though to those of you selling these. Make sure your buyer's payment is legit and that you cover your you know what so they can't come back later and say they didn't get it or that the box was empty. There are lots of scammers on Ebay both buyers and sellers...
