When would you plan this ADR?

I want to surprise my animal-loving son with the Dine with Animal Specialist dinner at Sanaa. I have a few questions:

1. I'm assuming we can take the monorail from MK to Animal Kingdom Lodge? (The restaurant is in Kidani Village)

It only runs Wednesdays and Saturdays, 12:00-1:30, which isn't the most convenient, for our plans, so I'm looking at options:

- Go on Saturday. We were planning on going to Sea World that day. We could do the lunch, and then realistically be in Sea World by 2:30. We could then stay till 9:00. We really aren't going to SW for the rides, just the exhibits and shows.

- Go on Wednesday. We were planning on going to MK that day. So we could go at RD, pop over to Sanaa for lunch and then go back.

- We could just go for lunch then head into MK, have a late arrival day.

- We could look at switching our AK and MK days (currently we have AK on Tuesday and MK on Wednesday). Then, we would be at AK, and could just pop over to the lodge for the dinner. This would require changing our BBB and CRT however to Tuesday.

So.... IF, we can get another BBB/CRT at decent times, I'm assuming this is the best option? But if we can't and have to keep things as are, what is the next best option? Or if is even worth it?

There is no monorail to Kidani Village. Therefore your options are to use Disney's bus transportation or a car service, unless you have a rental car.

Even if you are at Animal Kingdom Park you will still need to use bus transportation to get over to Kidani Village.

Unfortunately, the only way to get to Sanaa and Animal Kingdom Lodge is by bus. Will you have a car? If so it may be best to go on Saturday (Sea World day), and drive from Sanaa to Sea World. I would not recommend trying to get back and forth from Animal Kingdom Lodge to MK- lots of wasted time.

1. You would be assuming wrong. ;) The only resorts the monorail goes to are the Contemporary, the Polynesian, and the Grand Floridian. You would take the bus to get to Animal Kingdom Lodge.

The food at Sanaa is awesome, and I'm sure your son will enjoy this.

A couple things.

The monorail does not go anywhere near AKL. From Magic Kingdom you are looking at a bus ride. Best case scenario for this is 20 minutes from leaving the park gates to arriving at Kidani. Realistically it is 30-40 minutes (that is each way). So between lunch and round trip to and from kidani you would be looking between 2 and 3 hours of lost park time (most likely closer to 3 hours). Not ideal if you only have one day in MK. If you have multiple MK days that is different.

By far your best bet is to switch your MK and AK days if you can swap your reservations. (Assuming you have only one MK)If you can't make the changes I would skip it or do it on your sea world day (or skip sea world and add a second MK day). I am not that familiar with sea world so I can't speak to how much time you might need to experience what you want to accomplish there. If you can do that in 6 hours then do it Saturday.

I think we could do SW in 6 hours for sure. It's kinda crazy to want to try and add something into our schedule which is already full... but this is an experience that we cannot get anywhere even remotely close to where we live.
