When Would YOU Go?

i need help guys...my DH, DD8 and i want to go back to WDW within the next year and a half, and i know september isn't usually a crowded month, but we just got back last wednesday and i tell you, the crowds were BAD (especially at MK)! i know it was partially because of free dining but we actually had to skip some rides because the wait times were as long as 40 minutes! my DH doesn't handle huge crowds all that well, although he loves WDW and loves being there, so i'm trying to figure out when we should go next time? taking into account my DD's school schedule and our modest budget (we SHOULD be able to afford a moderate this time), would January 1-5, 2007, be unrealistic? are the crowds horrible? if you had a choice, when would you go? TIA

Thats a great time to go we went one year from the 2nd - 10th and the crowds were very managable. the beginning of January has some of the lowest growds of the season. Hope you have fun

thank you so much! i'd read crowds were usually low, but i'm kinda new at this (only been to WDW 4 times, lol) so i need all the expert help i can get!

We were there until Wednesday 10/5 and, yes, the crowds got bad beginning 10/1. I think the reason was free food, F&W, MNSSHP, schools closed, Jewish Holidays, etc...All had an effect on the crowd level. Our next planned trip is the week after New Years. I hear, and am hoping, that it is the least busy week of the year. My fingers are crossed.

9/10 thru 9/16 was still pretty empty. It did get busier Sat the 17th. CM's said the Tues thru Fri before that, right after Labor Day Mon, was just as quiet. Schools here in the northeast (NJ, NY, PA, etc) don't usually start until right after Labor Day and parents don't want to pull their kids out that early. Guess those in the south that have already been in for a month don't want to pull them out that early either.
