February. But avoid President's weekend.

I'd take 1 week in cool weather with reasonable crowds HANDS DOWN over 2 weeks in the summer.

I chose February for the wonderful weather in Florida. March can be nice but crowded.

Only caution I have is that when we fly in winter I always worry about flight cancellations and delays!

Kids are 7 and 4 (2nd grade and preschool).

The week would be 3 - 11 (not President's Week).

After talking to dh and our friends, I think we are going to stick with Feb. And then save for 2 weeks in 2013.

I'm from MN too and going those EXACT same days as you!! I agree airfare is horrid right now...I wish I could drive, but it will just be me and my 3 girls and I'm not comfortable with that.

To the OP...I would choose either Feb or June!!

When I drive its just me and my daughter who is 10. I feel very comfortable driving across the country but I was raised in a family that whenever we were in the states we would spend the summer months traveling all over. We have driven' from California to New York. I am always careful where I stop and I have AAA, the plan with long distance towing in case.

Hey maybe we could do a MN caravan down to Disney World in protest of the high airafare!
