ok so i am still struggling with booking. there are quite a few rides closed in jan and im also worried about the cold as my dd will have just turned 2 in december. my mom says its too soon to go back and i should wait till may.

so my question is when you you go jan (cheap but bad weather and rides closed) or may (possibly better weather but a dearer)

thanks for any help you have no idea how hard it is to keep my finger away from the book button :rotfl: :rotfl:

Difficult question - you know yourself and your daughter best. How would both of you cope with the very cold temps of January?

I'm looking at next May also. I was there in June this year and the weather was great, it wasn't busy, and as you said, less ride closures, and spring/summer season shows etc.

But, I'm also looking at very early January 2010, as the prices are so good, I'll see the end of the Christmas season (Christmas is sooo beautiful at DLRP it makes me cry with happiness  ) and I'll get a free night and day thrown in.

I'm not much help at all am I? But I have to say, I'm not sure how I'll cope with freezing at DLRP :rotfl:

yeah that is my biggest problem the weather. i mean when i was there last week we had lovely sunshine so i dont know would miserable weather spoil all that? ugh i hate decisions lol. we are planning on going next november to get the christmas season in so maybe i can wait till may. it just sounds so long away lol

Personally I'd say not to let just the weather put you off going. In January there won't be long queues and Disneyland Paris was created for the cold weather so you will find lot's of warm spots everywhere.

But you need to go when you feel comfortable with and if you don't feel comfortable with January then don't go. I'd go in January in a hearbeat but then I'm great in the cold (I'm a snowboarder so it's a good thing) and would go this year but I'm going in December so can't go twice in two months!

We went last month during the week and there was not one there. The only ride we waited for was Crush and that was only 15 minutes. The weather was perfect and the Halloween decor was up in some sections of the park.

with a little one I would definitely suggest going in a warmer month. We went in December when I was pregnant with dd who is now 2 and I have to say I found it quite hard going in the cold and I would love to take dd for xmas celebrations but will wait until she is a bit older. We have gone in June for the last two years and have found the weather nice, warm but not hot and as we went mid week the queues and the prices were ok. You know your little one best so I guess you would know how well they would cope.

A lady my Mum works with went a few Christmasses ago and it was sooo cold the lake had frozen over and the park didn't get up and running until arount 11 am as lots of the mechanics on the rides had frozen apparently??!!

I must admit we've priced up (but not booked) early Jan but I am a bit put off by the weather too. It's so hard for little ones when it's so cold...

ETA - we've also been looking at May at it's our DDs' birthdays around that time but someone on here kindly told me to watch out with school hols as there are quite a few around Europe in April and early May....

thanks for that i didnt think they got their hols till june so thats one to look out for. ugh all the decisions lol

I went in feb this year with DH, DD(then 7) and DS(then 3) and we were not prepared for how cold it was going to be :cold:

I had my suspicions that the children would feel it really cold so had gone out and bought a skisuit for my DS and not told my DH until the night before we left :rolleyes1

He said I was being ridiculous and not to pack it as we would be returning it when we got back. Needless to say, after 3 hours in the park on the first day, we were straight back to the room and got DS into his new ski suit which was on him every day of the trip - smug, not me!!!!! We had not brought one for our DD but she ended up wearing tights and socks under her trouses and a vest, tshirt, jumper and heavy coat along with hat, scarf and gloves.

We have booked anoher trip for feb 09 but have already bought DD a ski suit and the one for DS still fits. It can be cold but is beautiful in the frost. Just be prepared for the cold and if you are wrapped up well it will be great.

We went in May of 2006 and it was gorgeous, such a lovely time of year to go. I am going to start saving up to see if we could go next May. Although if hubby reads this - no no I don't mean next May I mean May 2011, honest guv :rotfl:

That was me - my DD's school Easter holidays run until 20th April, then there are French school holidays, including the Paris zone, until the very beginning of May. Labour day is 8th May I believe, so I want to avoid that too (I really don't do queues ;) ).

DD's birthday is 23rd April, but I'm now looking at around the 14th of May to book for.

My self and my daughter feel the cold ,my husband and son dont.
we went january and have booked again for this january.
we went well prepared with hats gloves etc warm clothing extra socks name itr i took it. we were fine infact i only felt the cold on the last day just after the parade we couldnt go back to our room cause we had checked out so we went and had ahot chocolate and soon warmed up.
If you decide january just go well prepared.

Myself and DD1 defo feel the cold - yuck! So not sure it would be good for us - do you think I'd get away with a full ski suit as an adult :lmao:???

Elaine - I think we might look at 10th of May (DD2's first bday is 9th May and I think I said DD1's bday is 23rd April too :))... So we may overlap - you never know.... :thumbsup2 Just waiting for the prices to come out. Thinking more and more Jan is a no-go for us so we'll just plan for May :cool1:

When we went for Christmas in 2005 there were lots of people wearing full ski suits ~ very warm and snug they looked too.

ok that just made up my mind for me :rotfl:. if it is cold enough for a full ski suit then its not for me not even the low prices could swing it. so looks like it is may (but avoiding any school holidays) for me.

anyone know when they bring out the prices for may

Oh my, I too don't think I could do 'cold enough for ski suits' - I'm a cold fish! ;)

May for me too Mummytoash!! Someone said Thomas Cook (was it?) has their online prices out now but I haven't looked and I've heard they are much more expensive than Disney... When are you thinking of? We might be there same time.... :goodvibes

im thinking maybe the second week in may. either sunday to friday or monday to saturday. i couldnt handle a full day at the weekend lol. im hoping there are no holidays then i had a quick look and it didnt seem as there was. also will depend on the price though

i like to go in September, it's not so crowded in that time and also not so could (in general)

yeah i was there in october this year and we had five days of lovely sunshine and one of rain

Well we might be there then - like you depends on the price - we will probably do May sometime though.... I don't think there are any hols then either :cool1: Hoping that because of that it will be quiet and some good offers on - the free night offer is always good :thumbsup2
