When will the new Harry Potter section be open in the Studios?

anyone know if next summer is before or after June 1st - June 4th?

We are planning our Universal days on the 2nd and possibly the 3rd of June - then checking into our DVC resort and doing WDW from the 4-10th. I will have two Harry Potter crazed young adults traveling in our party and I know they want to see the new stuff.

All depends on how fast they get everything done. If things work out it could be in rehearsals late Mayish. If something g doesn't go right it could be later.

Good question. When they were building the original, they were advertising that it would be open in the spring of that year. To me spring is March-May, so I booked a midMay trip, thinking it would give me a little cushion if they were running behind. Nope. It opened in midJune, but they say it was on time because technically the first day of summer is not until like June 21st.:upsidedow:rotfl:

Theme parks will not give an exact date of when a new attraction will open due to all kinds of outside things. Construction could be delayed because of weather, needing parts, crews getting behind, etc. The main reason...if you planned a trip for a certain date and come to the park expecting the new attraction to be open and it's not, you aren't going to be happy are you? That's why all you're going to hear is a time frame...not an exact date...at least until the attraction is ready to open. There is still way too much time between now and next summer to guess on an opening date.

Given that Universal just announced a ticket promotion for tickets that must be used before 5/22/2014 I tend to think that it will not be open until after than.

They are trying to get people in before school ends. That's it. After Memorial Weekend school lets out and its nutty season.

We will be there either June 2nd or 3rd - not sure which one yet.

*I* will be happy if it isn't open. *I* would be happy if we didn't go at all... but I am tagging along with the rest of the family and the members who really want to go. I will just make the best of it. Simply trying to get some kind of clue as to if there is a possibility of it being open or not.

When the WWoHP opened in the "Spring" of 2010- which was mid June actually for the Grand Opening- UO had soft openings in May for onsite guests. Onsite resort guests got to go into the WWoHP for a few hours each morning while offsite guests could not get in until the official Grand Opening.

So if you could stay onsite, you might get lucky that way. Otherwise, I wouldn't count on it if I were you. Construction has a way of never finishing as fast as you want it to.

And if you really do not want to go, you could just drop off the young adults and do something that will be more fun for you. Sounds like you do not think you will have a good time. Shopping is always good... especially if you save the price of your ticket...

Pretty unlikely that a Summer 2014 opening would be as early as June 1-4. They've been literal about seasonal openings like this and Summer 2014 runs from June 21 to Sept 22.

I noticed the same thing when looking at the blockout dates. I hope it's open in early Summer so some of the crowds die down by the time we go in August.
I hate to say this but...don't plan on crowds dying down. It will be crazy busy until well after the start of the new year.

totally agree!

i went early october the year parry hotter opened.
it did change the usual crowd pattern in the park.
