When will the car rental discounts come out for 2/07?

What company did you book thru to get that rate MainStMandy??? (Cute name by the way)

All,

I was confused to with the KISS2 code. In order for it to work when you're on the Dollar website, you need to go to the Specials page and plug in your info. Underneath that is a spot for a PROMO CODE. Put KISS2 there. It brings the rate down a lot! I'm going 2/26-3/4 and it was available for that time! Good luck!

Lol, thanks. I used to work on Main St...and Mandy is my all time hated nickname (in fact there is only person in the world that can call me this!!)

That rate was through Alamo, save 20% and $25 on an SUV when you use your Visa. I don't have a "real" credit card, only debit so I have to use Alamo.

Sorry, I should have checked this out before I wrote anything...the KISS2 rate is obviously not available over President's Day week. It kept telling me there weren't any cars available when I used the code, but when I didn't use it, there 'magically' were cars at $330/week base rate! Ouch!

I noticed that today National's rates also came way down for the first week of February. Rates that had been quoted for months at $369 for an intermediate now come up for $216. (And the usual discount codes are now in the system for their useful 10% or 11% off.)

That now makes them about even with what I had previously for Dollar, and with the ability to use Emerald Aisle as well. (For a few bucks more, my wife thinks I'm a real big-shot, since we usually end up with something better than an intermediate.)

rates starting to go down! Just got a minivan at Budget for $492 for 14 days. Down from $605 for a SUV at Alamo!!! Used code U030172 . :cool1:

I've been checking rates for next July. WOW!!!! They're $100 more than last year, and that's with a code. I've checked Avis (preferred), and Budget and they're both much higher that last summer. Hopefully, they'll come down.

I got a standard SUV down to $606 from $668 at Alamo for 12 nights in Feb over President's day weekend using rate code BY, ID #428448. This is the WalMart ID. It also gave me a free driver.

Are you a bj's member? I used their coupon in the latest flyer and got a standard SUV out of Tampa (which is usually higher rental prices) for $258 including a free extra driver. This is for Feb vacation also.

Okay, you guys had me laughing so hard....I am tired from the Holiday but also looking for JAN '07 codes for a Rental and found this Thread....I get to reading the Posts and see BOTH of you ALSO got someone to even DRIVE THE RENTAL CAR FOR YOU..... :lmao: ............. :rotfl:............... :rotfl2:

(And before anyone posts back or PM's me....I figured it out on my own......) :lmao:

Mousesavers has a link to a $40 National coupon. I combined that with one of the basic WalMart codes (ID#) there, and came with a dollar of Alamo's price for a smaller car. They have the same debit card rule (proof of round trip transportation) as Alamo, and while the pool of vehicles is the same, National ALWAYS has a shorter to non-existent line....

Karen,

Isn't it great to have an extra driver included in price????!!!! Talk about luxury.... :lmao: :rotfl2:

Just a bump :) Anyone have any good deals? I have a midsized suv for Feb 4-9 for $186 with tax. I am hoping it will go down a bit more since I had a better price last year, but I could be happy with that.

am going in jan, MLK weekend. could not get resonable rate. Tried priceline. Got full size car for $19. a day 1/11 to 1/14 alamo.

I'm with you. Still, the best price I can get is Alamo, mid-size SUV for $205 for Feb. 3/AM to Feb. 9/PM with tax. We went in October and the discounts are just not around like they were in the past. If you can get under $200 for one week, consider yourself lucky. Of course, the smaller cars will be less, but we book fullsize to SUV. National has not gotten close to Alamo's rates yet, but I still look as we are Emerald Exe. members.

I noticed that National rates are WAY higher than Alamo for the same time. I could book a smaller car too, but for the $20 I figure what the heck.

I am hoping as of Jan 1 we get some good discounts. Everything out right now for alamo ends 12/18 or 12/31
