When will SW open up for Late August?

My daughter will be starting college in FL beginning late Aug (Embry-Riddle in Daytona Yes, I'm a proud mama). Because of the 2 free checked bags I'd really like to fly SW, which is always our preferred airlines.

Any frequent flyers know when SW will open up reservations for late Aug flights?

It looks like February 8, but their site also said it could change and to keep checking.

So early lol I would love to leave at 6a but we live 45 minutes away from the airport and have an 11 yr old, so it would be like herding cats to get out the door at like 2 or 3a. We thought about getting a hotel next to the airport the night before, but decided to just fly out at like 10a

Yes, it takes a little bit of looking around the site to find it but it's there. It always takes me like 10ish minutes to locate it lol. Hopefully, somebody that knows exactly where to go on the site will tell us.

I just seen that. Was coming to post but got distracted by another post. But ya, at least I now know where to look! So do their fares go up when people book? Like with the cruise industry?
