When will summer internships be posted?

Hey all! I was wondering when Disney will post summer internships. Anyone know? Thankss!

probably in late feb... once they start to get a feel of how many people they are hiring for the fall advantage and how many people they will need to fill up the extra spots....

i think it was late feb because... last year i was accepted for a start date of may 17 alumni program... but they ended up asking if people wanted to come in march instead... so that means the apps had to have gone up in feb .... they were quick about accepting too lol ... i interviewed and got acceptance email 10 days later i arrived for work on march 24th

Just as a reminder, there are internships at Disney outside of the College Program. It is a very, very large company.

A couple years ago I wrote about my experience as a Summer Associate at the Walt Disney Studios as an undergraduate. I really loved it, had a great time, and learned a lot. Now I'm going to do a PI at Walt Disney World as a grad student. I know that the listing for the Studio's summer internship is up on DisneyCareers.com. Also, the Disney Interactive Media Group has a bunch of summer internship for those interested in games, from console games to cell games to social games. ABC, ESPN, and Disney Consumer Products also offer summer internships.

I'd encourage everyone interested to go to DisneyCareers.com and under "Job Posting Category" select "Internships / Associates / Co-ops."

Wait- so there is for sure a summer college program? what is it like May-August?? it doesnt have it on the website and we were so confusedd!

There is never a "for sure" summer program... but i'm pretty sure that if there has been a year that they havent had a summer program... it was a long time ago....

They arent going to put anything about it up on the website because they cant be sure when they will start to hire for it or how many spots will be open to fill...

Go to the college program website sign up for the alumni newsletter, and when opportunities open up for a summer alum program they will send you an email telling all about it and how to apply.... its what they did last year... thats how i knew about it...

They wont start taking apps for it until they know how much extra help they are going to need over the summer... just sign up for the newsletter and you will know when it is open if it opens and I'm willing to bet that they will have one... summer is very busy

by the way... if there is a summer program like last year it is ALUMNI ONLY... there is no summer program anymore for people to select... only fall and spring... they have a summer alum program to help fill space and work needs over the busy summer...

Also... for this program if they open it up... there is no need to be in school the only requirement is to have previously done a program... so technically if you have done the program 20 years ago... you can do the summer alum program haha

the summer thing is just a way to fill spots that were opened up by Spring Advantage people who quit or got termed.

it wasn't really that long ago when they didn't offer one up for alumni. I want to say 2005 or 2006. I do know that they haven't done it every year.

requirements also vary on the number of people they need to apply. the limitation to alumni is to reduce the number of applicants. in the past they have only had one arrival date (again- reduce the applicants.. if you can't make it by then, you can't apply). the types of positions they have are also limited. you don't get the full selection and even if you are still statused as a seasonal cast member, if you are in a position they aren't offering, you have to change if you want to do the alumni program. the requirement to still be enrolled or not enrolled is another way they can limit their applicants.

it really isn't a full fledged program and they can vary it to fill what they need to fill.

officially the "summer program" ended when they started doing the Spring Advantage and Fall Advantage programs. both of those cover the summer months so there really wasn't any need to bring a group of people in just for that any more.

for example the roles they offered for the alumni program last semester was... custodial houskeeping qsfb merch and i thiiiink main entrance... also... they did only have 1 arrival date it was may 17 but they ended up opening up two more dates april 28th and march 24th... like khancock said its different every year... it all depends on how worthless the spring advantage people are that they hired or how busy they will be...

but for the most part the roles they offer are not the normal roles everyone wants...

Thanks so much for this information! I never realized there were other summer internshipis available outside of the college program. I am definitely going to check this out.
