When will MK be decorated?

We always go to WDW at the end of August and/or November/December. This means we haven’t seen MK *not* decorated for Halloween or Christmas since June of 2010. Our trip is a little earlier this year — 8/7-8/15. Do we have a chance at seeing Main Street without Halloween decorations?

Don’t know how you missed them. Halloween decorations in MK are up by the first MNSSHP, then there is about a week between October 31 and the first MVMCP in November, when the Christmas decorations will be up. The only delay can be the big Christmas tree. Sometimes they wait until they have done some of the filming for the Christmas tv special, and sometimes they go ahead and put it up.

The first MNSSHP is August 15, so I’d say a cautious “maybe,” since Disney is known for decorating overnight. Good luck!

Oh we haven’t missed them every year, we’d prefer not to see them! We would love to see Main Street as it is normally, without any holiday decor.

It’s a bit early in the Halloween window so it probably be will not be as intense as if you were there in September or October. Decorations usually go up in a gradual manner.

Gotcha! Well, you are visiting at the wrong time to miss them. I would expect the fall decorations to start going up in another week or two, and then it will go from fall to holiday. You would need to wait until mid January to see a decoration free MK. I have seen Christmas decorations up as late as MLK weekend.

You would have a better chance by going to MK as early in your trip as possible. The other parks don’t go so deep into Halloween as MK, so if you start there, it might work out for you.
