When will July hours be updated?

Closing last night at MK was a cluster. People were POURING out of the park and transportation was awful. Buses for every resort were coming one about every 25 minutes. Two women on our bus got into a shouting match. Buses were PACKED, because of all the people still there. Shame on you, Disney.
That stinks. :(

What could account for buses being that infrequent??

I don't know. Buses normally come one after the other at closing. Not last night. A couple people (incl me) even remarked on how it isn't normally like that.

Wow. Think of the impression that will leave for first timers. (Well, at least they are generating shareholder value.) Come on Disney. Crack open that wallet and add an hour to each night at MK. This is clearly short sighted thinking.

We got to the bus stop at 10:10. The first bus came at about 10:30...the second at 10:55.

Someone in another thread just reported that the wait time for FOP at 10:30 PM tonight is 210 minutes. Sigh... What a fair trade off. Close MK 1-2 hours early in exchange for two rides at AK. By my observation, the wait time of FOP during EMH is actually longer than the typical wait time for FOP in the middle of the afternoon.

So if you got in line at 10:30 with a wait time of 210 minutes; you would be getting on the ride at 2:00 AM, 2 hours after EMH ended!!!

If Disney cut off the line before midnight, people don't get the full 2 hours of EMH. If they don't it could be 3:00 or 3:30 before people are done riding. Bet the CM's and bus drivers love that.

What a cluster****; but hey the 3rd quarter numbers will look great.

I'd love to know the reason for the summer 10 pm close. Can't be Pandora, last summer AK was open till 11 every night and MK regularly closed at 12. I know because we were there 8/13-21 last year.

They are all short this summer. We are so disappointed. No evening EMH for Hollywood, and MK closing at 10pm is so disappointing. I at least though AK was open later each night--but just realized its only Pandora....ugh. I can only guess its a money issue.

When it first opened on opening weekend, we went only because we happened to be there and Disney couldn't bother to send an email saying sign up for fast passes for this attraction because apparently people who go to disney have nothing better to do then to keep track of Disney's every move. Anyway. We show up and are told they closed the line like an hour before. My understanding was you basically had to be in line before EMH started to ride.

If they are cutting lines off again, that will be a big issue.

We were there a little earlier last August and believe it or not, the 2nd half of August is typically quieter so it would make sense for hours to be lower, but as you said, they were opened later. Same when we were there a little earlier in August last year, midnight almost every night. I think 1 night was 11. And DHS was open late one night.

I'm really debating renewing my passes at this point as I"m not even getting decent money worth with this new model they have.

Keep in mind that posted wait times near park closing are grossly inflated. Across WDW.

Touring Plans has accurate waits. Users reported ~100 min waits at and after 10pm. WDW posted 210 mins at that same time, they do this solely to discourage people from getting into line.

I'm going next week and just checked - a few nights are extended to 11pm at MK with EMH till 1am next Wed. It's something!

All of the parks closing at basically the same time

Unfortunately, they are only staying open later a few nights. We check in on the 29th and it stops right before we check in. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Just that extra hour would be nice. If all parks are closing at the same time, this may explain why folks are having to wait so long to get a bus. They are all busy with closing time crowds, ugh.

So they close MK early which drives guests to AK EMH (where they have only two rides open). Then they inflate the ride times to discourage guests from riding them? What sort of guest satisfaction strategy is that?

They've been doing the wait time inflation (at park close) for a while... And with certain rides, they even change the way they queue flows to make it look busier than it is....

As for the park hours, they are correlating them with crowd levels. July is trending down year-over-year, attendance wise (per touring plans most of July has been modest (5 or 6 out of 10)). In their new "mode", WDW doesn't seem to be adjusting hours unless crowd levels are 7+. In the end, it means a similar feeling of crowdedness in the parks no matter when you go...

Of course, they are still charging peak pricing for this current week... despite it no longer being as popular and truncated park hours. I'm sure soon enough all year will be peak pricing...

Like 100 min is really any better? I've been at mk many times at closing and the waits are usually pretty close until 5 min before closing.

Last night... 7DMT was posted 80 mins and 45 mins actual (per TP) at 10pm.
