When will July hours be updated?

We just returned from 10 days in the world, and hours were not extended for parks on any of our days. In the past, we often got an extra hour when rain shut everything down earlier and crowds justified extended hours, but nothing this year. We shut down a park every night, and they were all still packed. MK closing at 10pm was crazy. We shopped our way out the last night and heard the 'kiss goodnight' at least three times. At 11pm (a full hour after the official close and 2 hrs after the fireworks) crowds were still pouring out. The monorail line was at least 4 trains deep and ferry and monorails were all running full. Crowds certainly would have justified the 11-midnight closings of years past.
Eesh. Really disappointing. :sad2:

Did anyone do a wed night EMH at MK. We'll be there next week. Planning on doing that but it's a short trip and our only MK time for rides. We would prob get there around 7 or 8. I think we'll pop in for HEA another night. So we can use firework time to tour. FP would be used earlier in the day, so we'd be working off our 4th, 5th, etc... Questioning my decision now??

:crazy2: Why cant they close at 11:00.

It's so frustrating. We go every summer, usually in August but this year July/August and I literally have video of the room tv with MK hours till midnight last year. Even 11 would be ok, but 10 in the summer when parks are pretty unbearable during day is nuts.

We arrived July 6 and check out tomorrow. MK has stayed with its 10pm closes throughout the week. Having been here and lived through it, it sure would have been pleasant to have some more night hours. Crowds have been heavy and afternoons have been hot and steamy. It gets really nice around 8pm. Tonight is the only evening EMH of the whole week and MK was nuts all day. To top it off, heavy rains are forecast tonight and many outdoor rides were down this afternoon due to lightning. The result was 170 minutes for Space, 95 minutes for POTC, 80 minutes for HM, 85 minutes to meet Mickey... you get the idea. Not staying open later is just stubborn.

I think there is a lot of pent up demand for night hours. My kids stuck around MK tonight but I surrendered. All in all, I have had a great week but I probably won't come again in July. And I DEFINITELY won't stay at Pop Century again in July. The sheer numbers of the tour groups are more than I care to deal with. I'll spend my Disney money more judiciously.
Not staying open later is just stupid. MK is getting the shaft due to Pandora. AK is open every single night of our vacation until 12. For two rides. Blech.

We just got back from a 3 night trip. We managed really well at all the parks but Magic Kingdom was insane yesterday. We have annual passes and I grew up in FL so don't feel the need or pressure to get everything done. I can't tell you how bad I felt for the people standing in a 40 minute line for Stitch...yes...Stitch! Space was 200 minutes when we got in line for our FP. Pirates was 75 and Splash was 90 when we used our FP's. We've been there in the fall when the day of they extended the park hours. I couldn't believe that yesterday didn't qualify as one of those days!!! We ate lunch did our 3 fastpasses and then threw in the towel! Not everyone can do that though and that's where not extending the park hours on a day like that is such a disservice to people visiting :-(.

That is crazy 40 minutes for Stitch. Hopefully Disney will see the problem and extend the hours. I'm mad about the MK closing at 10:00.

Yeah...We turned the corner into Tomorrowland and saw 40 minutes at Stitch and 45 at Monsters Inc...It seemed like it was the week between Christmas and New Years!

Yes just 2 rides at AK. That is just not going to work for crowds. What the heck are they thinking?

Considering the ticket prices, I think it's a darn shame...not to mention the elimination of the MSEP. This type of Disney crowd control is not setting well with me. There is no way we would spend more than one evening at AK with only two attractions open, and we will not be staying at that park until 12am. At the very least they should have continued the daily 8am openings for the remainder of the summer.

Yep, I was at MK yesterday and agree that it was nuts. That 40 minutes for Stitch is reflective of the truth that all those people have to be somewhere. When they can't be on Splash, BTMRR, SDMT, Dumbo, Aladdin. Jungle Cruise, SFTH, Liberty Belle, or Hall of Presidents they have to be somewhere. That's why Stitch was 40 minutes and Space was 3 hours. We have APs and we know how to deal with situations like that, but I felt sorry for all those people trying to make the best of what might be a trip of a lifetime. Paying well over $100 for half a park and stingy hours is no fun for anyone but the accountants.

That's weird to hear, because Sunday was relatively dead at MK. 20-30 minute waits on everything by SDMT most of the day.

We walked onto FEA Saturday morning at 10:05 after walking onto Soarin' at 9:25. Tusker House was practically empty at 5:30 for dinner. And Monday at Blizzard Beach was very short waits, too.

Crowds are hard to figure out.
