When will I get my deposit back?

Unfortunately, I had to cancel my upcoming cruise (decided to put the $$$ into a new kitchen). I've cancelled in time to get all my money back, but it's been over a week and the $500 hasn't posted to my credit card yet. What's the hold up? Is it normal to take this long?

Some people have reported that it can take anywhere between 2-8 weeks for your account to be credited.
 
When I got a refund when my cruise went down in price (thank you Florida Resident Rates), it took a couple of weeks for the credit to show up.
 
I just went through the same thing. I was told by DCL that I would have my credit in 7 days. When it did not show up in 3 weeks I called and was told this was not unusual. I questioned them because I had cancelled a Disney hotel at the same time and had my refund in 7 days. She put me on hold came back and said they would put a trace on it - I had my refund the next day.
 

Don't expect it for close to a month or more..any earlier and it would be great.
 
I accidentally put a deposit down one time (don't ask) and it took about a month to get it back. On the other hand, it took about a month to post the final payment to my credit card also so I guess it evens out.
 
I am in this same boat- we have had to cancel out trip for Easter (boohoo) and haven't gotten the $$ back we have paid. I think that if I can get the deposit to them within 7 days of booking, they should be able to do the same. I was told 7 days as well BUT up to 2 or 3 credit card cycles!
