When will HDDR return?

Several issues there. First, the tables are too close together for current protocols. Yes, they could spread them out, but I’m guessing that that show needs a pretty full house to make money when you consider the cost of the entertainers and the food. Secondly, I think that the actors in the show are equity and I’m not sure any of the equity actors are back at work yet. I guess I just see Disney opening more of the regular restaurants before re-opening the dinner shows. Maybe if things go well this summer, it will open for the 50th anniversary.

There are several Equity actors who are back at work - the Dapper Dans, the Voices of Liberty, the actors in Savi's Workshop, just to name a few that I know for sure.

Thanks for the info. I guess I put people who are primarily singers in a different category than the actors who really interact more with the guests. We did not see the Dapper Dans in December, but the Voices of Liberty were very distanced from the guests. As they left the theater to go backstage after their show, they also actively avoided interacting with guests as they crossed to the backstage area. Are the Dapper Dans currently singing on Main Street itself or are they also socially distanced? The actors at HDD are very interactive, come into the audience, and invite people on stage. The show would have to be greatly altered to meet current social distancing. I didn’t realize that anyone in Star Wars was an equity actor. Of course, I would also never pay $200 for a ”light saber” so haven’t been to the workshop.

The Dapper Dans perform on the train station platform as well as on the horse drawn trolley along Main Street.

I would guess it won't return till late summer/fall at the earliest.
To make it financially feasible, you either need lot of people there or raise the price a lot.
Neither option works well now. And then you still have the issue of distance between performers on the stage.

Once everyone has had a chance to be vaccinated. Hopefully by late this year it can open back up.
