When will BLT be sold out?

Does anyone know or have any idea as to when BLT will be sold out?

I have plans to head to WDW, staying at the WL in early June. Was thinking I would buy then, but would I have to worry about them selling out before hand?

Thanks!

They have about 8 million points to sell. DVC sells about 3.5 million points a year. With 2-4 other resorts selling at the same time, it'll be many years before BLT sells out.

My guide who has been there forever and never pressures you says he expects it to be sold out before it opens.

And Mickey Mouse is sitting right here next to me...

There is not a chance that is going to happen. They barely could sell out the "founders" slots in the timeline that initially stated.

When does the expiration date for BLT get locked in?? Is it already locked at 2058 or 2059? Or does the 50 years start when the last pts are sold?

The expiration date is set before the points go on sale. The expiration date does not change. The only exception has been OKW so far which you could pay an extra fee for the extension.

We got founder's status on a purchase just about 2 weeks ago. There are LOTS of points left.

So then, assuming Disney is still selling BLT a year from now I would really only be buying for 48 years since it is locked in at 2058?

If you don't mind me asking, if you know you're going in June, and you know you're going to purchase, why don't you go ahead and buy now? Tell your guide you have reservations at VWL. Tell him/her that your upcoming trip is really important to you, and can you work something out to stay there on points? :confused3

I only say this because of experience. :sad2: We KNEW we were going to buy into DVC. So, we book a 1-BR at OKW and spent $1,600+ (and that's with SIL/BIL's DVC discount). We could have put that $1,600 toward a purchase AND stayed at OKW had we bought before the trip. :headache:

Just something to consider. Do make sure if you talk to a guide that you mention your June vacation. Otherwise, I'm afraid there won't be availability where you want to stay when you go to book. :goodvibes

From the BLT FAQ on the member website:
What is the expiration date of the deeded real estate interest for Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort?

The expiration date is January 31, 2060.
