Does anyone know when the points will be posted for 2008 cruises? I have called member services a couple times and they have said that the points should be available any day, but that was a month ago. We want to book for Feb 2008. Thanks!

I'm right there with you. We're wanting to cruise Jan of 2008, keep checking MS website everyday. Hopefully they will release the points chart soon.:confused3

well dvc said the points were suppose to be up in the middle of feb that was on their website. than they said the end of feb now they are saying the end of march. you can go ahead and book it now then when the points come out they will call you and ask you if you still want the points, at least thats what i was told. i booked two days ago for the feb 2 seven night cruise. hopefully it will around the same points as last year.time will tell

ironic - that is the same date we are looking at! thanks for the update - I'm off to call MS. :thumbsup2

Same date we are sailing also :woohoo:

I booked the room on our Feb 3rd cruise with the on-board credit before we became DVC members and MS said they would transfer it to DVC once the points come out - which I was told would be the end of Feb. I'm really looking forward to this since it will be my first use of points!!!

I know that this may not be the best use of points but it works for our family right now. The kids only want to cruise and it has to be with Disney - no parks, no other cruise lines. It will be our 4th DC and number 5 will be Christmas 2008.

It used to be a good deal to use points for the cruise. Now I think it is better to rent the points here and use the cash to pay for cruise. Our last DCL cruise for 7 people in two outside cabins cost $6700 in Aug 2006 for points it was over 1300 at $10 per point we took cash but actually made more than 10 on EBAY

Help... how do I go about booking a land and sea cruise using points?? Can you point me to info on the subject?

Not just that, but if you go to someplace like vacationstogo.com, you can often find cruises (including Disney cruises) listed at significant discounts. I did the math on them and the price actually came out the same as using points from my BWV (figuring out, at the time, that the maintenance on each point was $4.85). So, waiting to find a deal on last-minute discounts you can purchase a cruise for member "prices" and still have the points in your account to party at Disney. The best of both worlds!

I'm considering renting, but have never done it before. Is it easy to find a renter? What pitfalls should I be aware of, if any? Thanks for any advise. :cheer2:
