When and where did you have your DIS meet once onboard the Wonder or Magic? Did that time and location work out for you? I look forward to reading your feedback. :listen: :wave2:

We had ours on Sunday afternoon, don't remember the exact time. We held it at the Promenade Lounge. Had maybe a dozen people show.

We thought that having it the first day would be a bit much and I think it would definitly be difficult to attended on the first day. You just have so much going on with getting reservations done, the sail-away party, fire drill, and getting ready for dinner, etc.. the first day is gone before you know it.

The lounge worked pretty well. Lots of seating area, not many people going through that area at the time we had it, and I think a bar-tender was available for drinks as well.

We attempted to have one on Deck 10 of the Wonder during the sail-away party, but it was much too crowded to find anyone. We had discussed meeting on the Deck 7 Aft verandah, but there was some concern as to whether it was big enough. Now I'm sure it would have been. Also, I like the idea of not trying to do it the very first day. There is just too much going on and not everyone is boarding at the same time. I don't think we were on board until almost 3pm.

What we have found is that 3 pm up on deck 10 works well. We meet mid-ship (above the goofy pool) on ths side by the port. 3 pm works well because just about everyone is on board and has done the running around. You have a good 1/2 hour or so to meet everyone before the drill. It is still quiet since the party isn't going on yet. After the drill I'd say about 80% of the people came back to party with the group.

we had several meets. we meet at the radisson the night before the cruise meet at deck 3 lounge where most of us meet up at and had a few dismeets in disers rooms. it was the best time and we still chat with our friends we meet

Another source of confusion, so be specific. We were meeting on the port side, but no one specified if that was the port side of the ship (vs. starboard) or the side that the port was on (which was actually the starboard side).

On the June 25 cruise we are meeting at 3pm at scoops and before we leave next week we are going to anounce another meet for Sun for cruisers that were not able to come to the first one. We are collecting cabin # also and hope to introduce kids to kids of there age group on SAT.

That's why we always say the side by the port (which is the starboard side). We always say deck 10 mid-ship (above the goofy pool) on the side with the port building. Makes it very easy to find and it isn't crowded at that time. Plus then everyone knows where to go for the sailaway party!

The Private dining room in Palo, for brunch on the (sunday) morning after we sailed on the Magic!

When I went on the Mousefest Cruise last December, their were several Mousefest meets. Mousefest included people from different websites.

1.- Although not onboard, but before boarding at checkin at the R.R. Fresh Gulf Steam Coffee Bar from 1030 to 1130 before boarding. It is on the right side of the entrance to gangway.

2.- On the same day, first day, after the safety drill at 1600, we had a bon voyage sailaway party on the tenth deck, midship, left side, facing the port. Deb Wills and Dave Marx brought bottles of bubbles for everyone, we saw the onboard party and singing below on the pool, and 1700 we watched as the Wonder left the port.

3.- On the first day, many of us meet in the Atrium Lobby of the Wonder on Deck three, midship to watch the Christmas Tree Lighting at 2000 before the 2030 Dinner. It was beautiful.

4.- On the second day, at 0715, Deb Wills had a sunrise walk. Everyone met at the 24 hour beverage center for coffee on Deck nine, aft, and then to Deck ten to walk a couple of labs.

5.- On second day, Dave Marx of www.PassPorter.com lead a tour of Nassau from 1000 to 1230. Everyone met at 1000 outside the Walt Disney World theater on Deck four, forward.

6.- Although not onboard, on the third day, everyone met outside on Castaway Cay at 1115 on the beach closest to the beach where they rent floats and vests and stuff. We took a great group picture of everyone with the Wonder in the background. Since everyone was allowed onshore at 0830, I still had time to sit on the beach and have a Konch Koler drink. It was a beautiful day.

7. On day three, at 2200, everyone meet at Wavebands for 70's night. The kids were in their clubs.

8. On the fourth day, I know that you want have Dr. Steve Barrett onboard, but we did. At 1600, he led a Hidden Mickey tour onboard the Wonder at 1600. He is the author of the "Hidden Mickeys" books.

I hope that you have a great DIS meet. If you are in WDW in December you might want to visit some meets that will be organizied. Here is a link for email notification and to see a photos of last year's Mousefest.

Sincerely, Ray

We met first day between 3-3:30 at the Mickey pool....just as an offical "Hi...this is me"...nothing big or long..just long enought to stop by say hi and put a face to a name...We figured between 3-3:30 everyone should be on the ship...have had time to find their room and have lunch....We also knew the kids would love to swim in the Mickey pool and it would be just long enought...but not to long....and still not feel totally rushed to get to the boat drill...IMO it was a perfect time. At that initial meet we then planned other meets throughout the week..but even though we ment to go...we just simpley forgot until it was done and over...after talking to alot of the others they got busy and forgot also. That's why I liked having the first hello the first day....before you get wraped up in all the vacation hoopla

Outside Studio Sea at 3 pm on boarding day is a common place/time. This won't work on special cruises (like the repo) as the numbers are just too large.

We met at the Goofy pool at 3pm last summer.........this summer we are planning to meet in the Diversions club at 10pm! :grouphug:

Does anyone have a good suggestion for a DIS meet in the DL area? The best I can do is to go to the pizza place in DD....is that a good idea?? :confused3

On the first mexican cruise, we met at 2:30 for the kids to swim in the Mickey pool and then did the grown up meet at 3 at Scoops which worked well... Lara had DIS Navigators for us then of all the stuff we planned all week (and ended up not doing...LOL).
Since we said wear DIS green (and many of us had shared pics before hand), most of us actually just met up in the port while waiting to board (or when arriving)...it was nice to get to see most everyone!

At DL, we tried to do a precruise meeting but only a few of us could show up...we did the snack bar near the pool at the Grand Californian as no one ever is out there and folks can get drinks or snacks there.

On our first cruise we made nametags for everyone & ended up meeting alot of people in the terminal in line waiting to board. Someone even stopped my on our way in the front door because I had the tag on already. We met at the sailaway on the dance floor & had bubbles for the kids. The ladies booked high tea for Sunday afternoon on the Eastern and then we threw together a wine & cheese in one of the staterooms on thursday while sitting around the Mickey Pool that morning. It was great seeing people we knew all over the ship. Others would ask if we were with family since we knew so many people. LOL!

Yea...wearing all our green, some people also asked me how big my family was...what was funny was that DISers were waving goodbye at the LA port (first cruise) and were all in green, next thing I know lady on the elevator asked how I got so many of my family together at the port to say goodbye! LOL

Ours was 3:15 in the Promenade Lounge on the first day and it was perfect! We passed out name tags and the kids exchanged postcards and keychains with the other kids to get to know them. We had plenty of time before the safety drill and plenty of time before the meet to check the ship out. We tried to meet again at the sail away on deck 10 midship, but it was way to crowded and everyone was spread out doing multiple things.
