When & What Was the Last Thing You Did with Your Teenager

Do you mean "quality time" with conversation and all ?? ;)

I would have to say last night, we went out to dinner (she and I and my DH).

Today we 've been running in different directions most of the day except for a quick trip to the Mall this afternoon for a couple of errands together.

Last night, it was my brothers 50 BD and my son is going to be 20 on the 17th so we had a BD party for them bother. I am very lucky, I get some good quality time with my son, ya know how the saying goes "a chip off the old block" well in my house it is a chip off the old blockette," LOL:)

A week ago Thursday, I took my two daughters, ages 17 and 20, out for a day at Woodstock, NY. We browsed the shops, went out to eat, and had a very nice day.

The 17 year old fell in love with a scarf that was on display at the yarn shop, so I'm knitting it for her. (It's been about a zillion years since I've done this.)

We're going to be visiting colleges soon.:D

Let's see...yesterday I took my 19 yo son to two employment agencies to, hopefully, get the lazy *** a job, and my 21 yo daughter...if you count getting into a shouting match last night as doing something, then that was it! Oh, how I love being a mother! lol:D

We started a tradition in my house when my daughter was young, that every Wednesday night is girl's night out. My DD and I go out to eat at a place that we both agree on, and then we go shopping or run errands, or just spend the evening together. Nothing is allowed to interfere. If she has a game or a school function, we go before or after.

Now that she is 14, it is tough sometimes to get her to go, but we have our best chats over dinner together. I intend to keep this up as long as possible, even when she is grown if she wants.
Since she has done this ever since she was three, she may gripe and groan, but she usually will go. Once she is out, she relaxes and tells me lots of things about what is going on in her life.

I enjoy the time I get to spend with her with no phone, no friends, and no interference.

Yesterday I helped her pack to go white water rafting.

I can answer for my parents...tonight we all went out to dinner together as a family, but I don't know if that counts. But Friday night my mom took me to the Goo Goo Dolls concert, which was definitely quality time...first time spent alone with a parent in awhile.

Oh yeah I have 5, two of which are teens. Let's see, the 16 year old my time spent today was picking her up from work and having her glare at me the whole way home. Last thing I said to her tonight of any substance was "Is there a reason you are being so nasty, are you getting your period?!!"

LOL! That's what my husband asked me, after my DD went off on me last night! All I asked was if she had an idea of when my books that she ordered for me were coming in (she works for a distributor. I ordered the Unofficial Guide 2003 and a Frommer's book on the Bahamas) Her answer to me was..."I told you yesterday that you didn't say you were in a hurry....don't keep bugging me about them! Or something to that effect. I can't remember exactly what she said...I just stood there in shock that she came at me like that! I really felt like telling her to forget it, I'll order them from Amazon. And, BTW, she doesn't have her period, she was just being Nasty Jamie.

The last thing I did with my teenager was go out to dinner with the whole family, come home and have cake, open birthday presents and then........the next day, she wasn't a teenager anymore!! ;)

A couple weeks ago me, my mom, my dad, and my sibs went shopping for school.

And then last weekend I sat down with my dad and watched "Here On Earth".

Well, I am not a teenager, but last night I went out with my Mom and my teenage sister, we went to see possession at the movie theater that I work at.

Dopey Sharon, is it possible that our daughters are related?Around here we call her "Nasty Keely".

Tonight my mom went to Boomers with me(16) and my brothers(18, 15, 12).

We (dd 15, dd 20, dh and me) spent the day together shopping and then we went out to eat at our favorite Italian resturant.

Let's see, yesterday was pretty busy.First,my two DS's(one of whom is a teenager)did some of my exercise tape with me(I don't know why, they just came in the room and started doing it  )then we all (DH,me and boys) went out to lunch, then on to shopping at Yankee Candle & Wal-Mart.Later in the evening we all watched See Spot Run,a hilarious movie.Has anyone else seen it?I almost wet my pants at the "poop" scene :jester:

Today we are all going to my nephews b-day party(he's 5)and then it's on to another crazy run-around week.

Every evening for the last couple of weeks I have been out driving with my DS-15. Actually, he's the one that's driving as he tries to get in his 30 hrs of driving time before Segment II Driving Class.

It's been a special time for us and I will miss it when I don't "have" to drive with him anymore.
