When was the last time you ate pizza?

Last week I had Rising Crust, Pepperoni, DiGiorno Pizza. After consuming a bigly amount of Pizza's in my lifetime. I found the store bought, frozen one to be my favorite and a whole lot less expensive. And the best part is that I always have one in my freezer ready for anytime the mood hits me. Twenty minutes in the oven, no calls for delivery or going out of my home. I guess it is one of the short cuts old people make.

Before anyone says... "It's not like authentic pizza", I agree. I had pizza in Naples, Italy a few years back and that is as authentic as one can get. However when it comes to American Pizza, it is just as good as any and for my personal tastes I even like it better than the authentic one.
Detroit style is just as great as the Sicilian style.

Two weeks ago. We have it once every three months or so. Just too darn expensive to have more often. Growing up in the 1960's, money was tight and pizza growing up was a Chef Boyardee pizza kit made at home, or a cheap grocery store frozen pizza, with my mom adding toppings at home. I was in College before I had a pizza from a pizza parlor.

Growing up, we always called the Chef Boyardee pizza "stinky pizza." I still like to have it a couple times a year.

We ordered pizza from a new place in town just last week. It's NY style pizza and it was really good so we'll definitely get in again sometime. We don't get pizza too often though because of the carbs, saturated fat, cholesterol, etc. But it sure is tasty!

I make a cheap and easy pizza at home at least once or twice a month. I stick dabs of leftover meat and veggies in the freezer for that purpose. One 8 oz can of tomato sauce makes enough sauce for two pizzas with the addition of basil and oregano - I just freeze half for next time. Whatever cheese I have around gets grated on top. For the crust I either make the easy two ingredient pizza dough (self rising flour and Greek yogurt) or buy a pizza dough ball from a local grocery store for less than $2.

We still go out for it at least once a month and also occasionally buy a frozen pizza. I'd be happy to eat pizza every day. It's enough of a staple that DH will say "we haven't had pizza in a while" and request it.

I had a slice of pizza last night at a scare event I went to. Wasn't expecting much from pizza at a place like this but it was surprisingly good!

I love pizza, but don't eat it as often as I'd like as I'm trying to be healthy. I tend to have it as a treat at certain times of the year, the night before i go on holiday to avoid any proper cooking or as a hangover cure. I'd love to eat it all the time.

OMG, yes! Whenever I was at my Aunt's house she made that pizza for us kids. I can still taste it. It seems to me that Pizza sauce had a very distinctive taste that I loved. Now it seems to me that everyone is just some form of marinara sauce and it has no personality anymore. Either that or I have exhausted my taste buds by over using them for 77 years.

What's unhealthy about Pizza? You've got all the food groups like bread, add a protein like pepperoni, tomato based sauce so you can call that either a vegetable or a fruit, depending on how deep you want to get into definitions, and least we forget the highlight of dairy in the form of cheeze. It is, in fact, the perfect meal.

{{sigh}} Indeed I do remember because I ended up sick all night. :( It was this past Wednesday and in honour of the first Raptors game of the regular season, I grabbed pizza and wings on the way home. I really enjoyed it but I knew I was being reckless. I have dreadful GERD and food that heavy and rich almost always does me in. It will be a while before I have pizza again.
I can empathize with that! My last GERD Apocalypse was brought on by a combination of pizza, with ice cream for dessert, too late in the evening.

:flower3: What a horrible scourge this condition is! I thought I'd maybe be OK because I took my last bite around 6:00 pm and didn't go to bed until midnight. Nope. Pizza is great though and if and when I finally/ever get my esophagus surgically repaired, I'll eat it every night for a week!

Because of the pizza chatter here we had it last night for supper😁. Homemade, pepperoni for DH, anchovies and green olives for me🍕🍻
