does your spouse and kids like to stay at the same resort or try new ones?

I will admit we have only stayed at three resorts. (Caribbean beach, wilderness cabins and Animal Kingdom).

So we are throwing around the idea of going this summer. I want to try a new place...I have three possibilities. Dh only wants to go to the cabins and the kids only want to go to Animal Kingdom. :rotfl2: Not adventurous here. Anyone else?

Not necessarily Disney, but if we're returning to a destination, we tend to stay the same place if its someplace we really like.

We are creatures of habit, CBR is our favorite. We have stayed at Pop and ASMu also. I would love to stay at the Beach Club one day, though.

For Disney vacations, we are DVC so we usually stay in our home resort the BW although once in a while we'll try a new resort for a short trip.

For other vacations, as long as we are happy with the accommodations, amenities and service, we would stay in the same hotel. For us, vacations are too precious to try new places for the heck of it and risk being unhappy or regretting the decision.

I've gone to Disney a bunch of times and I've only stayed at the same place twice (each with different people).

I guess we like to try new things at Disney. Which if you knew me would be shocking. :rotfl2:I am definitely a creature of habit in all other areas of my life.

We like to try different resorts. But since we're a family of 5 and the deluxes are usually more than we want to spend our choices are limited. Luckily for us POR has always been one of our favorites.

We stayed at the YC this past summer. We went over to CSR for a car show. When we walked in my kids said "this hotel is so much nicer than they Yacht Club. We should have stayed here". :rolleyes2 Kids.

Both times we've stayed on site, it's been at POR (though different sections). We looked at others, but figured why mess with something we were so happy with the first time?

I would like to try the Wilderness Lodge sometime if our budget allows, though.

Though we would love to go back to AKL or CSR, we are determined to try a new one each time!!! We started at Values and worked our way up to deluxe but are going back to a mod this next trip!

We are DVC and usually stay at our home resort, VWL, especially if going during a busy time. We have stayed at all of the DVC resorts except for Bay Lake and the new Villas at GF. Last fall we went for a quick 3 night trip and stayed at 3 different resorts. We couldn't get all 3 nights at the same and decided to be adventurous and resort hop.

I love trying out new resorts! We have stayed at Pop about 3 times, its our fave. But we have also stayed at POR, CSR, ASSp, ASMov...i feel like im leaving out a couple more? Anyway. This upcoming trip im hoping to stay at BC or Contemporary for a couple of nights before our cruise.

I think you should try to convince the fam to try something new. BC maybe? if you show the kids pics of the really awesome pool area, they might like it. The bonus is that its located right by HS & Epcot.

When we go to WDW we like to try different resorts. It depends how flush we are at the time. We stayed in the Poly once, when we came into a small inheritance, and we have stayed at AKL, Fort Wilderness, and POR. Of those, I absolutely loved Poly (who wouldn't?) and I did not like POR. I was put off by the log beds. Probably because the whole place, including the beds, was a little too close to my childhood experiences. My DH absolutely WILL NOT stay in the All Star resorts. He's a Disney snob. :goodvibes

Now, when we go to other destinations we tend to stay in the same place, unless we didn't like it previously. We often take our camper and we stay in different places, although we do have a few family favorites that we return to over and over again.

We have stayed at Pop twice, CBR, POFQ, and twice off-site. Plan on AKL for the next trip.

We are also DVC, we enjoy checking out the various resorts. We're pretty fond of BLT, but we're happy to land at any available resort during our stay (provided we have adequate points).

Prior to DVC we stayed at most of the deluxes and at CSR. The only resort we didn't like was All Stars which put us off staying at anything except mod or deluxe. :earsboy:

....although I'd love to try BC/YC (or BW) [we've stayed at S/D twice and love its location!!] we always opt for AKL, since it is our absolute FAVE!

I love trying new resorts and have a goal of staying at every on property resort. I've almost reached that goal!

We are DVC'ers and usually will add a night or two at a non DVC resort to try out new places. We've stayed at almost all DVC resorts at WDW, just need to try GFV!

DH & kids go along with whatever I want usually, but if we stay at the same place 2x's in a row, they are ready for something new.

A split stay is a perfect compromise! :thumbsup2

Different places. I've stayed GF, CR, BC, YC, BWI, AKL, AKV, BCV, BWV, VWL, SSR, OKW, POR, POFQ, POP. My top 3 in order are BWI, AKV, GF (main building-didn't like outer building).

It wasn't until my 24th WDW vacation that I tried BWI and discovered that it's my favorite.

For other destinations, we like to stay in the same place.

For WDW, we're determined to stay once in each; although now that we've fallen in love with the GF/Poly combo split stays, we may be done with that nonsense.

We tried a few (POR, AKL, BWV, VWL) before we ended up with our current favorite BLT. We are making our third stay there in May. Previously we've only stayed in each place once. The kids are small so we spend most of our time in MK and walking over with the stroller is so convenient.

We have really only stayed at one "resort" on the property, and that's SOG (Shades of Green). Generally we book an apartment type unit for the week we're there through the armed forces thingy. Planning a trip for later this year, and I want to stay on site again, and I'm looking at SOG once more. It's not important to me that I try out all the different properties, although there are a couple that I'm really interested in!
