When Virgin Drops a Hotel...

I've just noticed that Virgin has dropped the Rosen Centre from it's 2nd Edition brochure. We've already booked it through Virgin for this summer, so I asked them what was going on, and they said that it was nothing to worry about, but they didn't know why it was dropped.

Should I be worried? Has this happened to anybody else?

My suspicious mind tells me that hotels aren't dropped because they are wonderful, but because there is a problem, so I could do with some reassurance or answers.

Any soothing comments greatly appreciated!

I shouldn't worry it's more likely to be the following reasons:

a) Virgin could carry only so many hotels of each "star" in their brochure and had to drop one

b) They may have not have been able to get enough room sin block booking from the hotel...another tour operator may have secured a better deal with Rosen on it

c) Virgin have already sold their room quota on this hotel before the 2nd edition was published so no point putting it in and disappointing others

I know a few people who have stayed at this hotel and they really enjoyed it, it's definately one that I would stay in on I-Drive. But if you're in any doubt what so ever then perhaps you should look at changing and see if Virgin will do this for you at no charge, after all they are the ones that put doubt in your mind ;)

It is an excellent hotel. Due to a lack of demand on package tour operayors since sept 11, there are some cutbacks, maybe they could not get a decent margin on the contract s etc...

It is definately not the quality of the hotel.

The previous post made some excellent points. You can relax & look forward to a great holiday :)

Thanks to both for your encouraging replies. I got a bit nervous after reading some detrimental comments from one poster on the net, but that was apparently a one-off, from everying else that I've seen.

Less than 5 months to go, and we just can't wait!
