When to upgrade 4 day park hopper to AP?

Ok so me and DH will be going on a last minute trip to Disneyland Sat. Nov. 15th- Tues. Nov. 18th to celebrate our anniversary. We will be buying 4 day park hoppers from getaway today. (ya, so need to do that today!! ) The park hoppers from getaway today come with 2 magic mornings on them. So, we want to use our MM on Sunday and then on Tuesday. Can I upgrade the park hoppers to AP's after we use the MM on Tuesday, or do I need to upgrade them on before we go in? I'm so confused on this upgrading thing!! We've never done this before, but because we are surprsing our 3 kids with a trip to Disneyland as their Christmas gift (going in January) this is the most economical thing to do. Can anyone help me out?? Thanks so much!!

Yes, we did the same thing. We upgraded them on the last day of our trip, so that way we got to enjoy the MM days.

Or if you know someone from California, have them get Deluxes from Costco. Same price as the Disney website, but they come with $50.00 gift cards.

Mouseplanet says they are not district restricted. But might be worth a look to make sure they are.

For us MM is nothing big, we never really used it anyway so why bother? So, for the surprise trip in my siggie I'm buying thru this link, saving $30 per pass and getting DBF the Fun Card to spend for his birthday instead of free admission. I almost did free admission and then used that for an upgrade but I would rather he get his b-day money to spend on himself.

We were also going to buy hoppers to use the MM and then upgrade to AP's, but when the special for $30 off the Deluxe one came out, we decided to do that instead. I decided that The savings outweighed MM for us and we would just do those attractions at rope drop on a non MM day. I know they were having a problem with a "glitch" on the DLR website with the $30 special. At times, the glitch was fixed, but then it would come back again. It was saying that the offer was only for So. Cal residents, which it isn't (It's for everyone). I haven't heard anything recent as to whether or not the "glitch" is fixed, but I'm planning on buying ours tonight, so I'll see what happens.

No problem, and your welcome. The key to making a link whatever size that you would like to, is copy the link, click on the URL script prompt, then paste it there, which you probably already know that, but someone else may not, then click on OK, then the link will appear in this box, there will be an area that is essentially blacked out, highlighted if you will, only black, you can read the font. It is that black (Highlighted part) that you delete, then type whatever you would like to there. Just make sure that you do not accidental delete one or both brackets (shown above, as an ex.) that is needed in order to post the link correctly. It is that simple. When I started posting on this forum, I would see via other posts, nicely worded links, instead of the big devil that it can be, etc. and I thought to myself, hmm, I need to check this out, so I did, and voilà! My experiment worked.

The OP would rather save money, but others might like the two MMs for the rest of this year (the two MMs are disappearing from GAT as of '09, as it has been reported).

In that case, just upgrade on the day that you do the second MM. Go in, enjoy the MM hour, and sometime that day go and upgrade at the "bank" (aka AP center). Do it BEFORE going on a water ride, so your picture is still nice.

Fairycat makes a most excellent point. Especially if you have a large family, if you like eating a lot, or if you have some expensive restaurants planned, it's a good idea to get at least one AP first (helpful if you have a late sleeper in the bunch who doesn't want MM anyway!) for those discounts.

Well first of all, you can upgrade to Premium at any time during the year. It doesn't say anything about cost on my plastic AP, but on the ticket-like voucher they printed at the gate (when I gave them my printed voucher) it had $269 printed, so I *think* it has a value of 269. *I believe* that would mean, if you wanted to upgrade, that you would pay the difference between the Premium and the 269 for the Deluxe (even though you paid 239).

The difference between the two is three-fold.

1: 15% discount on most food instead of just the 10% discount on most food as with the Deluxe.

2: 10% discount on most merchandise instead of NO discount with the Deluxe.

3: No blocked out dates at all.


So if you ever found yourself yearning to go during a heavily blocked out time, you could either pay the blockout pass fees at $40 day, or you could upgrade to Premium if that made more sense.

Oh Oh OH! Forgot a biggie for some...

4: Premium includes parking! The Premium passholder has to be in the car (doesn't have to be driving) to get the discount.
