When to surprise?

We have decided to go to Disney in Jan (11th-17th) of next year. We are already leaving on a cruise out of Ft Lauderdale on the 17th, but decided to leave a little early and spend time at Disney. We want to surprise the kids but don't know if we should make it part of their Christmas or wait until we actually get to Disney to let them in on the secret. Any thoughts?
