DH an I plan to sell one or two of our contracts within the next three years. With all of the changes and new rules taking effect, should we sell sooner or later? My head is spinning trying to figure out the ramifications of selling or waiting.
TIA!

At this point, I would not rush into selling. All of the restrictions on resale that might affect the resale price have already gone into play. Your contract is more valuable in your hands than in a new owner's because you can book the new resorts but once sold, those points will only be usable at the original 14 resorts. I would allow at least 6 months for the smoke to clear and then see where the market heads. From what I have read on other sites, sellers were getting very lowball offers in the week leading up to 01/19.

I would say it depends. If you own at ie BCV or BWV selling now compared to later might not do much difference. Later might give a higher price but its not written in stone. People buying at BCV or BWV dont care about the lost ability to book future resorts as they both some of the more desirable resorts and only tend to use the points there and only there.

Are you selling SSR, then I would just wait and see and the restrictions have now gone into effect and selling now compared to later wont do much.

You could also rent out your points, and get a better return on your money, but if you need the cash now I don't see the resale market changing to much over the next 3 months.

Best time to sell is when you no longer need the points for your vacations. Like Matty B13 said, the rental option is a great way to keep your membership and put a few dollars in your pocket.

We sold our BWV in early January and got nearly full asking price. It sat on the market for a while and then the resale changes were announced and we had an offer the next day.
