We are hoping to take a trip to Disneyland in late September. What should my timeline be for requesting my Disney reward dollars? I'd like to wait and see if we might earn more before we go but I also don't want to wait until the last minute and not get the card in time. If I request the card does the expiration date on them change from the date listed on my cc statement (2017)?

It expires the end of the year following your request. (request Sept 2013 expire Dec 2014) You should order the card now. If you have more available before the trip you can add it on to the card you would now be holding.

Unless something has changed, I believe the minimum to request the card is $20 in Disney Dollars. I usually order the card with $20 on it about 2-3 months in advance of the trip. As the PP stated, the card will expire at the end of December the following calendar year. If you get it anytime in 2013, it will expire 12/31/14. If you wait until January to get the card, it will expire 12/31/15.

You can add any amount over $10 to the card once you have it. I believe this is immediate and can be done online or over the phone.

The last time I got my card, I ordered it with $20 on it, then called and added the rest of the balance of reward dollars to it at the time of the trip.

Order it NOW...it takes a good 7-10 business days to come. As others have explained, you can add points anytime after that online or by phone.

When you say you hope to earn more points til then - they will only post points once per month - a few days after your statement closing date - no matter when you pay it. Paying it off early won't get the points quicker, and they don't post points as you charge things.

I ordered 10/3 and it hasn't come yet. Getting nervous it's not coming before my 10/18 trip and/or it's lost in the mail. :sad2: The last time I got one it came in like three or four days. I was surprised it came so fast.

It's been less than 7 business days. Don't get nervous yet!

Are you talking about the Chase credit card points? If so, you can just get the card right at guest services in the parks now. They give you a blank card and you call Chase right there and give them the card number. They activate and load the card while you are on the phone.

I did this in our last trip! Worked great!

Since you plan to travel next year, I would wait until January. If you order now, it will expire Dec. 2014. If you wait until January, it won't expire until 2015.

You can order a card for as little as $10. I would do that and them just hold onto the card. Right before your trip, go online and transfer all or as many points as you wish right before you leave. I actually transferred my points after we arrived once I knew what I need to pay off our room charge. It takes about 15 minutes for the points to show up once you transfer them.

First-timers have to have at least $20 in rewards to order a card. After that first card, they can order new cards or add to current cards in amounts of $10 or more.

I have gotten the Rewards after arriving at Disney. I usually use the Guest Relations at Downtown Disney, but any Guest Relations may be able to give you the card.

Just checked, it's $10 to either get a new card or reload an existing card. And the screen you go to is completely different than the last time I did, probably about 3 months ago. Now it looks more like Ultimate Rewards website on another Chase card I have.

Is this your first time to redeem? If it isn't, then it will only take $10 in rewards dollars to order a new card. However, under the terms and conditions of the program, it takes $20 in rewards dollars for first-time redemptions. That's how it was when I got my Disney Visa when they first came out and that's what it still states on their website. https://disneyrewards.com/terms/

3. You must transfer at least twenty (20) Reward Dollars from your Card Account the first time you request a Redemption Card. All transfers after your first transfer to an existing or additional Redemption Card must be in increments of at least ten (10) or more Reward Dollars. Disney Rewards LLC and Chase reserve the right to limit the amount of Reward Dollars that (x) may be transferred at a given time to a Redemption Card, and/or (y) may be contained as a maximum balance on a Redemption Card. Reward Dollars transferred to a Redemption Card cannot be transferred back to your Card Account.

Never noticed that it was different. I've redeemed a couple of cards before. Guess that's why it's only $10 for a new card.

I ordered 10/3 and my card came yesterday. Maybe it would have come on Monday if it hadn't been Columbus day? Still took longer than I recall it taking in the past but glad I have it in time for my trip. :)

I'm thinking about paying off my WDW trip with my Disney visa. Will that get me reward points?

We received the gift card for opening a new account. Can I add my reward points to that or do I need to order a redemption card?
