When to make park reservations for July?

We are using the military tickets and once purchased, we will add them to our reservation and set up our park reservations. However, the tickets are non-refundable and we are planning to go with two elderly family members. So we are trying to find a balance between having time to get park reservations for the parks we want and reducing the risk that someone will not be able to go bc of health, etc.
We will be making dining reservations 60 days out so we will have them by then so we can make sure we have the right park reservations for that. I’m wondering what else we may need to factor in?
If we are going the 3rd week of July, when do you think we should DEFINITELY have the tickets to be able to lock in park reservations?
TIA!

Based strictly on observation, it's only been on extremely busy periods (holiday weeks for example) that park reservations have been full at any given park.

It's a personal decision but we make our park reservations almost as soon as we purchase tickets. I prefer knowing we have something booked with the option to change as opposed to forgetting and then possibly missing out if I wait too long.

We tend to visit the parks in a similar order most trips so it's pretty easy for us to book early.

Realistically, unless you're going to be there the week of the 4th, for July you probably could get away with making reservations a couple of weeks in advance (and probably could push it to a few days in advance or even day of for most parks if you really wanted to).

Everything is so up in the air about crowds etc or if the park reservation system will even remain and for how long.

Basically my advice is to purchase and make park reservations as soon as you personally feel comfortable.
I'd be doing it now if it were me but I'm not in the situation you are.
If you are really looking for a definitive answer then I guess I'd say no later than 90 days out.

I would make them as soon as you have some idea of which parks you want which days. The reservation is only etched in stone if all parks begin to sell out.
