When to look for rental points/make res.???

Hi! We are not DVC members, but we are hoping to rent points for a studio at BCV midweek during March of 2006. We're hoping for a Sun-Thurs stay, which means we'd need 56 points. Is it too soon to look for rental points on the rent/trade board? Do I look for points first and then ask the DVC member to see if anything is available? Do you think only renting for 4 nights midweek will hurt our chances of finding a place?

It's certainly not too soon - anyone with BCV points will have an 11 month booking window they can use to secure your reservation. I also don't think the midweek stay will affect your chances - there are many instances where people have an odd number of points they need to use up - it isn't always large amounts. Post what you need now - or start looking through what's available - it will give you more options and a better chance of getting what you want.

Points are of no value to a non-member - for a non-member, the points are just a way to figure out the cost. What you are really looking for is a reservation!

It is not too soon to be looking for a reservation at the BCV for March 2006 -that's only 5 months away. BCV will be full for the spring break weeks - if you wait too much longer, you may not be able to get what you want. Any DVC owner can help you since it is less than 7 months to arrival.

Just post what you want (specific dates, resort and room size) on the Rent/Trade Board and someone will contact you.

for march the points is 14 points per night

so you are checking out on Thursday right?

beaware that the week of March 19 can be very busy. Orlando/Kissimmee generally has off this week.
