OK, I need some advice ...

We are a family of WDW regulars, love the place, head back at least once a year in thanks to DVC. As a family, we have never been to DL. My husband and I have each gone, years ago, but the kids only know Florida.

We have been thinking of heading to California for a while now, and after reading a recent DVCers TR we have decided to head that way next year for our family vacation.

So, here's where I need some help ... when should we go? I know nothing about weather trends, crowd levels, etc. Any and all advice, thoughts and opinions will be greatly appreciated.

We are a family of 5, 2 big kids and then our 3 children -- 6, 4 and 2. We can go at anytime in the year, not limited by hubby's job (USAF) or oldest's school (school feels that family vacations are an important thing and realizes that military families can't always stick to school breaks).

So, DL experts, when should we visit? And how long should we stay? We will be staying on property, hopefully in the DVC villas.

Thanks!

Also -- any golf in the area for hubby?!?!?

Welcome to the DLR board!

First, I know nothing about golf. :confused3

When should you visit? It depends on your priorities. These link discuss some of the issues:

"What You Should Know About Off-Season at DLR" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=18462889

How long should you stay? Three days minimum for a solid DLR visit and four is better.

Weather? It is better overall at DLR than WDW. Moderate summers, less humidity, way less rain, no hurricances or tropical storms. Earthquakes (like the one that happened last night) are thrown in for free. ;)

Have a magical trip! DLR rocks! :cool1:

Because of weather I'd try for late May or easrly September. Not just because it will be warmer at DLR but everywhere. You should try to see some other California things too and the Beach is best when it's warm.

There is a golf of course everywhere. But if you want to spoil him he should play a course on the coast. If you are going down to San Diego maybe he would like to try Torrey Pines. If you don't think he will head down there, Near Palos Verdes there are a couple courses, one is Trump National and I think there are a couple country club course in the hills there too.

Thank you both!!

The links are wonderful, I had tried the "search" function but it didn't really help me find what I was looking for. I was a bit overwhelmed and now I'm not!

I checked out the golf courses and they are PERFECT! thanks for that. I know that hubby could find some on his own, but if I do the research it makes for easier planning for me.

Thanks again!
