Hi -
We were planning to go in late April-early May 2009 because I love warm weather and was hoping swimming would be good then (plus we were planning to go to the beach for a few days too) but now I read about the love bug infestation that occurs this time of year.
Are they so bad or such a nusiance I should reconsider a trip this time of year. We live in Alaska so getting so fun in the sun is a big consideration for us. We however can travel whenever we want. Any advice would help. Thanks.

Honestly, for my family, we totally avoid the luv bug seasons (April/May and Sep/Oct) They just gross us out. But I have read on the boards that some people don't seem to mind them at all. If you are traveling with children, consider how they would feel. A friend of mine went with her 2 dd and they wigged out and had a lousy time. I guess it all depends on how you feel about the little creatures
And yes, they can have very infested seasons and sometimes not. I recently saw pictures somewhere on the disboards but I can't remember which forum (sorry) and they were everywhere
