When to go to Fantasyland?

What have you found to be the least crowded time of day at Fantasyland? I'm assuming right after the park opens? What about later in the evening? Do the crowds tend to die down a little around a certain time?

Last year we arrived on a Sunday in July and went to the MK after dinner. We went to Fantasyland in the early evening and we were amazed how short the lines were. We ended up doing most of Fantasyland that night very easily. We did not see Spectromagic that night but we were done in time to catch Wishes. We are going to try this strategy again on 7/8 but MK is the evening EMH park now on Sunday so I am wondering how this might affect things.

True, most lines in Fantasyland wane after dinnertime, however, there are a few rides that maintain 40 minute waits or longer until the moment the park closes. Going first thing in the morning is the only way to tackle all of Fantasyland with little to no wait...(this is mostly in regards to Dumbo, Pooh, and Pan)

Last summer in August we were able to ride all of the Fantasyland rides at night with little or no wait with the exception of Peter Pan's Flight, which, even at 10pm at night had over a 90 minute wait! Lines were nonexistant at Pooh, Snow White, Philharmagic, and Small World. All of those were literally walk-ons. I must admit that I didn't look at Dumbo's line as we weren't going on that one.

So, if you don't mind not riding Peter Pan, you can do them all at night with very little wait.

Honestly, best time to hit Fantasyland is a weekday in January or early Fenruary. I have truly been spoiled by visiting Disney at that time of year.

I have never actually experienced this, but I was reading in the Birnbaums(sp) book that the best time to go is later at night or really early in the morning, because most of the young kids wouldnt be there yet, or are leaving for their beds. So that is just an idea.. :confused3

If you go in the morning, after you've done FL where would you go next? Frontierland or Tommorowland?

We have done Frontierland or Tomorrowland. We usually do one one day and switch on our next morning visit.

Thanks! I was hoping to hear that it would be possible to do most if not all of Fantasyland in an evening. We are doing MK in an evening plus a full day with the evening being first. I was hoping to do Fantasyland in that first evening, then at rope drop in the morning on our full day, try to do the three Mountains. My kids are 6 and 9 and don't seem to care if they go on Dumbo, but Peter Pan is a must. If we can't do it in the evening, maybe we can get a Fastpass when we go back during the day. My 6 year old is a night owl, so staying a bit later in the evening is not a problem. Thanks for all your insight! :thumbsup2

During quieter times of the year it is possible to do some Fantasyland after opening and then get to Splash/BTM before the lines build up much.

I usually go to MK AT LEAST two days in my vacation. The first day, I'll go to Fantasyland, then Fronteirland and Adventureland, (doing the big rides as early as possible) and the second I'll hit Tomorrowland, the characters in Mickey's Toontown Fair, and Liberty Square (of course I tend to mix and match depending on what we're in the mood for, but that's the general order).
