We had such a great trip in May that we are in the "very early stages" of planning our next. Right now we are thinking about November or December of 2010. I'd like to go November 6-13, but DH would like to go the Saturday after Thanksgiving - November 27-December 4. Which time do you think would be the least crowded? We went in November a few years ago and I LOVED that time of year. I'm worried that it may be getting a little cooler in December making it uncomfortable to swim, but DH would like to see the Christmas decorations.

Also, when would be the cheaper time to travel?

Thanks for your help! :thumbsup2

I can't help as to when it would be cheaper since we went during Thanksgiving week and into the following week. As for crowds, I noticed that starting with that Sunday after T-day, the crowds got lower and lower.

I loved seeing WDW all decorated for Christmas. They do a phenomenal job and in my opinion, it should not be missed. But then, we love Christmas and all the lights and decorations.

As for the swimming, my kids and husband went swimming during that week. The pools are heated but it was chilly when they got out. My kids really got a kick out of swimming while our families back home were freezing the tushies off. If you plan on swimming, just bundle them up when they come out.

I'd pick the week after Thanksgiving and hope that the Thanksgiving crowds have cleared out by then which, if I had to guess, they will have.

Have you checked any of the online crowd calenders? They won't have your 2010 dates out yet (although some of them have access up to a year in advance) but you can get an idea of what to expect from this year's calendar.

Good luck. I am very partial to December trips--it's beautiful.

We love December! We went the week after Thanksgiving once and this year we're going for first full week of Dec. The crowds when we went were very low, a little busy on the weekends. We had a wonderful time, still swam at the resort pool (value) and being in PA totally enjoyed the weather. I know some think it's pretty cold, but PA cold in Dec makes FL cold feel like spring! :goodvibes Choosing between Nov and Dec I'd take Dec any day just for the holiday decor, it's so beautiful and what could put you in a better holiday mood than Disney!?

You can go online and see resort prices for 2010. I think November and early December would be the same price, as long as you avoid Thanksgiving.
My oldest always wants to swim at Disney, and we do not like to swim when the air is cool since we are southerners, but we love our Christmas trips to WDW. We have a pool at home, and great water parks nearby, we don't have to swim on every Disney trip.
