What day would be a better day to attend MVMCP –

the first day of arrival (11:00am) – Thurs. Dec. 1,

the middle of our trip Sunday, Dec. 4

or near the end of our trip Dec. 6 (Dec. 8 & 9 – Island of Adventure/Universal Studios)

traveling with kids ages (1, 11, 8, 18)

Which day would be best and least crowded?

please ---- someone out there should have some kind on opinion

No expert here, have only been once and will be there again this year.
so here is my opinion:

1. Would not go day of arrival - its a late nite - kids might get overexcited from the travel and then just the fact that its day one at WDW.
2. Everything i've read says Weekends are more crowded then weekdays becuz the locals come to this event and too late an evening for a school day.
3. i'd go on the 6th, since it looks like you have no big plans for the 7th - everyone can sleep in and you can all have a nice leisurely day before you start all over again at Universal.

We went on Tuesday nite last year and it was great, crowds were very doable.

Hope this helps

The first night you're there is a tough one...usually a long day of travel and not very good sleep the night before you leave. We have done them in the middle but the night I like the best is the last night we are there. It has worked out great for us. We can stay up late and then sleep in. Get a nice breakfast someplace and be all ready to hop on the DME bus for a 3:00 flight. But it looks like that's not an option for you since you'll be going on to US at the end of your trip.

Well - just our experience but I would not go the last chance you have during your trip. Once year we went and attended two parties. The second one was a GULLYWASHER - it rained the whole night - no parade...etc. If that had been the only party we attended I would have been so disappointed. As it was we had already attended one - and I wrote guest services when we returned and they were kind enough to refund us our ticket cost with proof of purchase. Which since they are non-refundable was very kind. I also heard that they offered tickets to other parties for people who requested them while they were there. I didn't expect to get a refund I just thought it couldn't hurt to try. But the gist of all that is I would hate for you to have that same experience and it be the last party you are there where you just miss it.

We did ours on a Tuesday and had a ball. It was not as crowded according to CM as the weekend evening parties. We were able to get seats for shows, decent place for the parade, plenty of cookies and cocoa and also do near walk-on rides. Unless you arrive very early in the day, I would think arrival day would be hard. We did morning to lunch at AK, then returned to the hotel for a long nap before going to the party. We bought our tickets when we arrived and at least one party (on a Fri) was sold out.

I'd say go the first day you arrive. I never plan something for later in my trip especially something like MVMCP because then I'd be waiting the whole trip to do it. I'm not good at waiting. Thinking your whole trip "Oh I can't wait for MVMCP. I just can't do it. Plus since you are arriving at Disney around 11am you have a lot of time to rest. BUT no matter how much time you rest I think your little one yr old will have a hard time staying out til midnight. Thats one of the things we noticed last year, parents with little ones left a lot earlier than we did (myself and DD11). The other kids will love it though. As it got later sometimes we didn't have to get off the ride because no one was waiting. Love it.

Say the Tues. Dec 6th would be best day for you to go to MVMCP.This is based on Sunday Dec 4th is a discounted MVMCP for AP holders and may bump crowd for a normal Sunday. If I'm wrong about this,Sunday is the beat day to go.We've been at least once a year to MVMCP since 1992 and most years twice. This year going on Dec 6th and 8th.

I took my daughter during that first week that year and we had a blast! There was NOONE there! When we walked by Pirates of the Carribean we were the only ones on the street! And we went on Dec 8th (not sure exactly) but we had a blast. It was truly truly magical even though it was misting rain the entire time we didn't even care! But take care to not do too much during the day that day cause you will be having a lot of fun that night!

We went to MVMCP on our first day last year, on Dec. 17th. Being my moms and I first trip, sister and nieces second trip, I was so glad we went on the first day, it was magical!!! and yes it did make for a long day with traveling, but with all the excitement you forget your tired! We would do it again, but unfortunately the first party when we go is on Dec. 1 and we arrive on Nov. 30. We are doing Spectromagic the first day, then then MVMCP on Dec. 1. :)
