Hello everyone. I am planning a DW/DCL vacation for 2012 with my then 4 year old, 6/7 year old and my dh (as well as some in-laws possibly). My big delema is when to go. I want to avoid hurricans but have nice weather (70-90's) and have low crowds while still having a lot of entertainment...I know a lot about DL but have only been to DW twice for very short time periods. I was thinking maybe May for the Star Wars stuff but my daughter doesn't turn 4 until june and I have heard that the child care facilities won't take her until she is 4. Please help...I have been thinking about this for a year and don't feel any closer to a good solution!

I have never been on a cruise but I love Disney in October. I am not sure this is out of hurricane season but I think October hurricanes are few and far between.

I personally love March-June weather...that is our preferred time to go to WDW...
Having lived in the Southeastern US for a few years, it seemed like from July- October it would rain just about every day... September I think is probably the most active time for hurricanes...October gets a whole lot better, but still warm..
I cannot comment about the kids club because we've never done the cruise.. if that is something that is important, my vote would be to maybe travel during her birthday? June is a little busier because schools are out...

My 1st vote will always be for late April, early May...
October would be my second selection..
Good thing is you have plenty of time to have fun and plan and the Dis is a great place to get all the info you'll ever need!

Hurricaine season is June 1st - Nov 3oth . The peak and worst of it is generally Aug-Sept. But they can occur at anytime. You are right about the Childcare facilities not taking her till she is 4 and potty trained, but you can do an in-room sitter .My advice would be Oct. It is not as brutally hot, still plenty going on. It is still hurricaine season though

Thanks for all the great tips! My last trip there was late september/early october and I loved the MNSSHP! The only thing I didn't care for were the love bugs but I hear they are gone by mid october so maybe that would be a good solution. Anyone else who wants to pipe up with their opinion feel free!
