Booking a trip not sure if I should pull my DD out of school for a late Oct. trip or if we should go in Aug.We have always gone inAug.so i know all about the heat and stuff. What I would like to know is in Oct.is it warm enough for swimming my DD love to swim so she'll be upset if she can't do that. Also don't the parks close earlier those days. Please tell me all about Oct.

We have gone at the beginning of October and at the end, for Halloween, and both times the weather has been very good for swimming. October is also a good time to go because you can go to the Halloween party in MK and Food and Wine at Epcot.

October would win hands down for me and mine! Weather would be fine for swimming! I haven't made it to Mickey's Halloween Party, but if it's anything like his Christmas party it would be great! Epcots Food and Wine Festival is very nice! Not sure about the park hours being shorter, but when the crowds are less the shortened hours aren't a problem because you can actually ride the rides without standing in line forever! :cloud9:

Hope you have a great trip!

October is better to me but it does mean having to take the kiddies out of school..there have been a few threads in here about taking kids out of school both pros & cons.

We are going this Oct (taking the 3 kids out of school for 3 days) but 2006 we decided to go the last 2 weeks of August because thay are getting too old to take ourt of school anymore :sad2:

If I could choose, it would always be the fall.

Another vote for October if you are comfortable taking your DD out of school. MNSSHP and the Food & Wine festival are fantastic! Weather is great too. :flower:

October is my favorite time of the year to go. The weather is sublime. The crowds are manageable & you have 2 great events with MNSSHP and Food & Wine Festival. If I could still take my DS out of school, we'd probably go every year in Oct.

Your DD will absolutely be able to swim. The daytime highs are low to mid 80's & at night it cools down to mid 60's. That seems to be the averages in my experiences.

I have to go with October too for the smaller crowds and cooler weather. We went one time in August and hot does not even begin to describe it!!!

I think your decision needs to be based on your child's age and school year. October will not be as hot necessarily, but only you know whether or not your child can miss that much school for a vacation.
