When to go...and to which park?

Hey everyone! My family and I are living in France (Yvelines region) and we have APs. On Wednesday the kids (who are in French schools) have the day off, because there's some big meeting with the teachers. We'd like to head to DLP then, and also later in the month when there's a 2 week school break. On Wednesday I know all of Yvelines has school off and I think all of France, but not 100% sure on that.

Basically we want to do one Studios day and one Halloween day this month. The studios day is because we did hardly anything there on our last daytrip and we probably won't do much for the rest of the year with the special Christmas and Halloween things to see. Basically I can't decide which day to do which park, and I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts.

I'm thinking this Wednesday will be less busy because it's farther away from Halloween, UK schools aren't out (I think...?), it's only one day so people from far away parts of France won't come, and it's a school night. We would leave at about 6 on the Wednesday (and probably 8ish on the long break...we just saw dreams in December and it's too late). On the Studios day we would do Ratatouille rope drop and on the Halloween day we would start with villains promenade.

Ok, after all that rambling, let's get to the point: would it make more sense to do the Studios or Halloween in the main park on a less-crowded day?
Thanks for any help you can give!

Hi there!

I think it's all personal opinion, but if it was me......

I would go to Studios tomorrow. Mainly because of the reasons you've just said - not wanting to stay late for Dreams (Studios closes at 6pm), and it will be quieter than later in the month. Looking at the wait times for the rides (I'm doing some ride wait time research this week ready for our trip next week!! lol) the rides with the longest queues this week are consistently Ratatouille and Crush. The others are much of a muchness, and swap around throughout the day, but those two are always significantly higher (often with Parachute Drop - also Studios) than even Thunder Mountain.

Also, the main park has the Halloween stuff happening, and yes, it may be busier with people later int he month, but it will feel more Halloween-y!!

That's what I would do in your situation...... Hope that helps!

Can't really help with which park you visit as personally I would try and get round both parks in one day! But you are right that the UK schools are not out until 24th Oct.

Just info on school holidays, all the schools in Scotland are off for a week or two weeks in October (at least I think all). In glasgow we are off next week but not sure about other areas but should be round about the same time. Don't know if that will clash with your dates but just some info just in case.

Whatever way you decide to do the parks I'm sure you'll have a fab time!!

If it is any help to you, both Crush and Rat Ride were showing 10 and even 5 minute ordinary queue times during the afternoons when we were there last week. I imagine the crowd levels will be roughly similar tomorrow.

Have a great time! :)

10 and 5?! You're kidding. That's insane! Usually when I look at wait times they're between 45-80 mins. ??? But you know what? I'll take it! :cheer2:

Thanks for the advice! I think we'll go with the studios---it's also scheduled to rain all day tomorrow and WDS is better for rain so there's another reason.

Thanks again!

that's maybe just the English schools, as here in Scotland the holidays started this week, but that's parts of Scotland, we start our holidays this Friday for 2 weeks. ( so Scottish schools off till 27th)
