When to get to MCO?

Tomorrow 12/6 - Monday - SW flight at 7:30pm. Need to return rental car at National. Checking 2 bags, single traveler.

Personally, I'd say walking away from returning the car no later than 5:30p. I probably would try to be dropping off the car between 5-515. Yes, I know it doesn't take that long to return the car, but I like to build "pad" in.

If you have pre-check, that could save some time.

Security lines at MCO can be ridiculous if you don’t have PreCheck, and even if you do, check-in/bag drop lines also get extremely long. I would plan on returning the car by 5:00 at the latest.

Arrive to check your bag 2 hours prior to your flight minimally.

I agree with PP - we’d try to arrive at car rental return by 5:00.

I agree with pp as well.. I would recommend arriving at least 2.5 hours prior to your flight, so no later than 5:00pm for a 7:30pm flight.. Ideally you should be entering the car rental return lane at 5:00pm.. MCO is notorious for crowds and long lines at both check-in counter areas and TSA checkpoints so allow ample time.. Also considering that you will be driving during rush-hour, be sure to allow ample time for travel between your departure hotel and MCO, account for both driving time and possible rush hour traffic..
