When to get the best rent-a-car prices

Going to disney middle of january and was checking rent a car rates. right now they seem really high 485.00 for a premuim car from dollar. Last year we paid 240.00 for a luxury. My question is how far in advance do they lower prices or how can i get a better deal. Thanks

Car rental rates change all the time so there is no "best" time to book - just keep checking back.

I booked through dollar for April 2007 and used code kiss2 and got a great rate of 202.00 with taxes for 1week on a minivan. hope this helps
