We're going to WDW next Dec and I was hoping someone can tell me when to start checking/buying airline tickets (prices)? I checked Southwest and it looked like the schedule wasn't up yet. Of course I'll consider just about any airline I can get a good deal on. We'll be coming from the West Coast. Thanks.

Major carriers have their schedule available at 330 days out...but most will likely change something. Southwest had tons of days (check the history of dings thread) where you could get a cheap flight. You would need to be flexible and have backup plans if you do decide to do SWA (eg lowest flights are midweek, so you might have to shorten or lengthen your trip by a day or two)

When in December are you traveling? If you plan to travel around the Christmas/New Years holiday the time to buy tickets is as soon as they go on sale. Prices are high during this period and the early bird will catch the worm

We got SW tickets for December 2005 around July 15. Of course, if you can hold on for awhile and wait for a ding you will be able to get them much cheaper.

We usually get our tickets for November around the first of the year. I have been checking already and the prices are way tooooo high on Delta. Now that Song is gone (effective May) I wonder if the prices will not come down as they usually do at about 10 months out. I only take SW with a last minute trip 3 months out...I get too anxious thinking about the changing costs and hate to wait.

Good luck.
