So next year we are thinking of camping to go to Disney. Did any of you ever stay at tropical palms rv or do most stay on site at Fort wilderness? We have a trip already for this year but i like to plan ahead....it assures me that i get to go again :earboy2: also what months are good for camping down there??

I like early May or October. Now I have to work around school schedules so I'm not too happy about that! :sad2:

We have not stayed at TPs (yet) but will probably have to in December since I didn't have the forsight and think that anyone besides us would want to go to FW at Christmas! LOL!!!!

If you are "thinking" of going then go ahead and make your ressies now; you can always cancel later. Better to go ahead and get the BEST while you can! The convenience of the on-site transportation can't be beat. We stayed at a value resort in January and the kids hated it! They wanted to be at FW.

Oh, If you go in October, it is value season so rates are a little lower. You can always check mousesavers for any kinds of discount codes too.

SO FW is worth the extra cost?? Sounds like your kids rreally like it! We have a pop up now but want to get a travel trailer so that we can do Disney every year! How long do you typically try to go for, a couple of days or a week. It is about a 19 hour drive for us so we will need 2 days to get there and 2 to get back.
Thanks :wave2:

Well we don't tow the TT for less than 7 days. We take two days down and back (leave on Fri afternoon stop 1/2 way, arrive on Sat, etc) as it takes about 14 hrs (with tt) from here with 3 kids in tow. It is just so peaceful there. Last May we went for a camping only trip and they even loved that! We swam, rode bikes, went to the campfire, etc. We like the woodsy area and I am sure that trop palms (TPs) doesn't have that.

Nowadays with gas as high as it is the longer we stay the better! If I were you I'd stick with the pop up just for that reason for a while.

Our trip in May will be from May 23 - June 1. In October, we only have 5 days so we won't be camping that trip and in December we will go for about 10 days. So I hope to get into FW for December but right now we are at TPs.

May and October. The only reason I would stay at TP is if I could not get into FW. The longer you stay in FW the more magical the experience!
