I would absolutely LOVE to stay at RPR next year (May) but I don't think it'll be within our price range.

Does anyone know when they will start taking bookings for next year? I know it's on their website but I've tried a couple of dates next year and it comes up Unavailable for all the Universal hotels :confused3

Hi.

Sorry, I don't know your answer but I don't think your dates will be available yet.

Just to say I also thought staying at Universal hotel would be outside our budget. However stayed one night onsite 2 trips ago and loved it. Then 2 seperate nights (for 4 days FOTL :thumbsup2) last trip and now this August we're staying 7 nights thanks to savings made on a great price on indirect flights!.

I've previously booked through universal site but this year booked through 'skoosh' -cost was about £120/night (with taxes), was available in June for stay in August -I'd have thought May prices would be better.

I missed a much better deal which I read about on these boards and had been available early this year. I think on Netflights? Anyway worth a bit of searching for a good deal!

Hope that helps a fellow Scot! Enjoy the planning.

The best thing to do is call the hotel and book no matter the price so the room is reserved. Then keep checking the website for the rates (and the rates will go down) if they go down justcall and they will change it for you. If at the last minute (one week before) you find it too expensive cancel and go with a backup plan.:thumbsup2

You will probably find they become available around August. Watch the boards here and someone will post when they become available.
I always book direct with Loews, as if rates come down in price you can call and have the new rate applied, if its only for 1 night Triple A rate[same as AA here in the UK] might be the best.

Great advice cause thats what I do for every trip we do :thumbsup2

I just booked 3 nights at RPR for mid-February 2010 on the phone. Nothing on the web site yet. I was told to check back in August (for web reservations).

HTH

I want to book 1 night at HRH next April - would joining the AA in the UK entitle me to a discount code? I need to renew my car breakdown cover soon so I've been thinking about this but I can't find anything about how I would get a discount. Can anyone help on this please?

You need to call reservations to get Triple A [same as AA here] discounts, but they would not usually be out , especially if rates only come out for your dates.
I always book my room, then as lower rates come out ,i call and have the new rate applied to my reservation. if you are going at Easter, which is a really busy time, they might not have any discounts for the AAA.
I read that if you are signed up with Rpoints, and go through their link, you will get £19 worth of points back on to your account, which means you have £19 of the AA membership price.

Thanks Robert :goodvibes
I'm hoping to book for the 12th April and Easter Sunday is 4th April next year. As it will be only one night it doesn't really matter too much about the discount - I just like to tell my DH that we've got a bargain as it seems to help him enjoy himself!:lmao:
I use Quidco for online purchases and they also offer £19 back on AA so I could get it fairly cheap. I just wonder what kind of discounts we're talking about - 10%? 20%?

Just depends what they are offering, remember a lot of shops and restaurants give you discount with AAA[AA] card as well. A few people i know on here will tell you to show your card everywhere and let them tell you if there is a discount with it, i know a lot at Universal give about 10%.
