Hello,

Its me again. Yeah, I have been leaving some posts lately, but I do it just to don't mix topics. Sorry about that.

This time I refer to the booking aspect of the trip.

Being the first time that my 5yrs old twins (girl and boy) will be at Disney World, I am decided to give them the best I can afford and I love the idea to stay at Pop Century to take advance of the more fluid transportation service.

We are traveling from September 14 to 21, 2014.

Right now, there is an offer covering those dates, including some room discount in a package called Free Memory Maker. It is sounds great, because you can have a lot of photos taken by professionals, however I just read a post stating that in the past, during the dates of our trip, Disney has offered Free Dining Plans packages, what I think would be a better option for me (I could be wrong doing the math). Here, you know more than me.

But, I am a bit afraid because to have access to the Free Memory Maker package, I have to book by April 20, and at the other hand, it is not confirmed yet if a Free Dining package will be available for my trip dates and maybe if it is released, it wont be until May.

What to do? Is Disney flexible with packages changes or I just should decide to go with the Photo Package and stick with it with no change opportunity?

I could book right now, but if booking leave me away of any chance to have the Free Dining package I will be disappointed.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Regards,

Book right now and transfer to free dining if they have it. And this way you have your res in place. I also suggest using local (to you) travel agent to book it. They have a lot of inside information and Disney pays them so the price to you will be the same as booking direct. There is no disadvantage to this. Disney also pays local reps in your state to keep bookings up so it helps a lot of people out locally. Just double check that the agency won't charge you to change your booking if free doing comes out. A reputable agency shouldn't.

Happy planning!

We booked early this time for the summer before the discount came out. We booked it With the memory maker discount. When the summer discount came out it wasn't cheaper so we kept the Memory maker discount.

Yep, book what you want now. You'll have up until 45 days before your arrival to make changes without penalties.

You won't be able to stack promos, meaning you won't be able to get the Free Memory Maker promo AND Free Dining (or whatever the new promo may be) so you'll have to decide which promo is more important and/or a better deal for you. Then when you do, just call WDW up and have them apply the promo you want.

Please believe us, people change their minds all the time if a better deal comes out.

Book what you think you want now. If something better comes out, you'll be able to call and change the package.

Enjoy the planning!

Book now! Disney allows you to book and then update any new discounts without a penalty. I would book with the discount they have now to make sure you get the room you want (deal rooms do sell out and are limited). If they announce FD, then call and change to that discount. They have no problem at all updating your reservation. You will have to put down a $200 deposit that is also refundable. You can cancel any time prior to the 45 day mark and get your deposit back so no risk there.

Good luck!

Good call to book now POP is a very popular resort and books up FAST As others have said you can change things later but grab the reservation while you can Hope you got it !

Free dining will probably be a better deal for you (though at POP remember you get the quick service dining plan free, if you want the basic you have to upgrade), but yes you can change and they don't give you any trouble for it :) IF a free dining deal does come out I suggest calling to change right away, during free dining there are only so many rooms per hotel that get it and from what I have heard they fill up quickly.

I do really suggest getting the Memory Maker too. We actually got ours free from our travel agent but in the future we will definitely buy it. It's so nice to have nice family pictures with all of us in them. We have no pictures from our camera or phones of all of us and the one picture we had our kids take of us in Downtown Disney....well you can tell that someone 4' tall took it ;)
