When to book Bonnet Creek for Christmas

We have decided we definately will be staying at the Bonnet Creek Resort from 12/24 to 12/31. My question is...when should we book this? There are several units available right now from owners, but I've read some posts that say it is better to wait. Is this true also for our timeframe? Christmas week? Should I go ahead and grab a reservation now?

I'd grab it now. That's the most popular week of the year.

That is a very good deal. I own with them and figure $5/1000 points for maintenance fees. That week without discounts or upgrades is 224,000 points. My price (not counting that I had to purchase the points) would be $1120. Now, IF I could get discounts and upgrades, it would be less, but they are hard to find for even VIP Gold owners during that time of the year.

Getting them in the discount window is unlikely, as the resort is already booked for that week. You can try the cancel-and-rebook trick, but it is risky.

No kidding! It's especially hard now with multiple bookings in one 7 night vacation! I'm booked 12 nights right now for July, but it is taking 4 separate reservations to do that.
