We are going at the end of August so fares do not seem to be on any type of sale yet, when do carriers usually have some sort of sale, we flew in feb to wdw for 64 one way. I hesitate to purchase my airfare so early in case of some sort of deal. Any help with this question would be welcomed.

Kepp eye on southwest they just put out some of their august fares. may be a little while till they post more.

go to various websites- travelocity, orbitz, cheapseats, priceline and sign up for their special fares email. Yahoo has a special alert reminder that lists low airfare. I just missed the boat with airfare from Rochester to Orlando for 83 dollars round trip. I tried getting but my departure date isn't available- must of went fast.

Southwest opens up their fights 90 days ahead of time. You cant book your flight any earlier. This sucks when you are trying to plan. We had the same questions. Should we do it now or wait until southwest opens theirs? So I went to a travel agent. She said that she has been in the business for years and when southwest opens their flights all of the competitors will drop their prices. They can't compare. We have decided to wait and take the cheaper flight prices 90 days before we leave.

Thank you for this info about southwest. They had the best deal last year when we went - but it was a last minute trip.

Hi there. I am frustrated with myself because yesterday I found RT flights to Orlando from Rochester for $68 ($112 with tax and fee's) for the end of August at Cheaptickets. However, when I went back to purchase them today, it was gone! Now up to $119 and $164 with tax and fee's. It was American Airlines that was offering the deal. I'm going to keep checking, hoping it will come back! Good luck to you!

We have always gotten our tickets fairly quick after we knew we were going. But last time there was 7 of us, and 11 this time. We paid 178 rt from indy with delta. Last year we paid about the same with nwa.
Both times the best suggestion I have is to keep checking, those ticket prices can change like a drop of a hat. You might also see if there is a travel agent that would help you watch prices. For some reason they always knew when the prices were going to go up, but since they wanted to charge a fee I booked mine myself. We did learn too that fares change depending on what day you are leaving, leaving during the middle of the week can be cheaper sometimes than leaving on the weekend.

I have the same? Should I wait for southwest but since we are going to Sat. after Thanksgiving is it going to be crazy should i book now? :confused3

Fares will proably drop in may, after easter. Just remember that nwa and delta have reduced there flight schedules so they have less cheap seats to sell. also swa has about run out of fuel hedges so they are paying higher fuel prices like the other airlines so prices might not be as low as in earlier years. The last piece of advice is to not fly back on sunday if possible. these flights always fill up fastest.
enjoy your trip

We may fly out of Rochester- cheaper than Buffalo. I have the farewatcher through Travelocity. I seen airfare from Rochester to MCO for 83 dollars round trip but I wasn't fast enough to see and by the time I went to book it- it was gone- shucks. Now I check several times a day and see I can catch such a great deal again.
