To wait or not to wait, that is the question? Well.. I went ahead and booked our (4) airplane tickets (through delta, had credits) today for our April Dis trip. I paid $219 all together per ticket round trip. I keep reading how you should wait till the 21 day mark, but I didnt think it was going to get any cheaper than that for the flights I wanted. Its a nonstop flight. Did I overpay?
I had an aweful experience over the holidays with my flights being cancelled/changed (one word SNOW) so delta hooked me up with 600 in travel vouchers. I'm kind of scarred for life since I cant help but think my flights will be delayed/cancelled.

I think $219 per person is a good price from PA. It could drop between now and then but not by much. If your trip is during a school holiday chances are fares will only go up from now.

I'm coming from Ky, but flying out of cinncinatti (we're military, move so much I forget my own address) I'll be there the 11th of April. Thanks for the encouragement! Something about booking airfare that gives me the jitters!

I booked our March airfare back in October. No way could I wait until 21 days out. I paid $169 plus fees, but I don't think $219 is bad. We are also going back for Xmas and I would love $219 tickets for that one. Have a great trip!

I book my flights as soon as the date is posted. I don't want to take a chance with getting the flight I want. And It must be non-stop. I don't even ask the price.

OK--deep breath. :)

First off, although there are no guarantees, the weather in April should be MUCH less dicey than over the winter. No rock solid predictions, but I bet you'll be fine.

Secondly, I fly from Massachusetts to FL, and for me, $219 for a round trip, non stop is terrific. I'd be thrilled with that price.

Third, and most important, pack plenty of patience, and have a Plan B (and even a Plan C) just in case.

Fourth, this is a great thread to read through, it's got loads of good tips and advice for dealing with flight issues and challenges

Fifth, and most importantly--Have a great trip!!!!! :thumbsup2:):thumbsup2

I'm kind of mad that I didn't get on my TA for booking my flights.

I talked to her about a week before my dates were available for booking. She had priced out the trip using my actual arrival but my departure date wasn't available. The cost was $400 return for two people. She was leaving (on vacation) the day my departure date became available and never called me or booked it.

Weeks went by and I forgot. When I remembered the price had gone up now it will cost me over $754.

Last year I paid $500 or so for the two of us.

TY all !! I SO wish we were still living in NY where we could catch a Jet Blue .Hopefully having a nonstop flight will prevent any major delay issues(driving 2 hrs to get to that airport for that reason). But honestly , if our flights weren't delayed (given travel vouchers) over Christmas I dont think I would be planning this Vacation, so everything happens for a reason right?!

Two hours from Cincinnati in Ky? For future flights, check through Lexington. I've had flights from Lexington to MCO (connecting THROUGH Cinci) that were cheaper than the same direct flight flight from Cinci to MCO.

Also for future flights, Lexington offers Airtran and Allegient that both offer NS to MCO.

Good luck.

I feel 219 is a decent price. SWA Flights from Baltimore to Orlando in April are 280.00 RT. We'll have to pass this year.

You are right. Lexington had better prices, but the only flight times were really late at night (9:30 arrival at 11:30) :( Wonder why that is? Lexington is about 2 hours also.
