i have not flown in two years, so i am rusty -
travel dates are 3/25 - 3/30
when should i book?
the fares are limted and high,($400pps, r/t,non stop) MKE - MCO ( SW & Airtran) am i early yet or am i late?

Book when you see a price you are comfortable with. I don't think anyone can accurately predict whether prices will go up or down for any given flight. It depends on too many factors.

If you drive down to O'Hare or Midway you can get it for $330/$299 respectively :)

Personally, those both seem a bit high to me. I've gotten round trip for sub $200 from Midway though admittedly I've never flown to WDW in March.

IMO you're late. SW has already released that time frame earlier this month. We've been traveling that time of year for the past 6 years and I always book my air out ASAP. Now, we're flying down from PHL or EWR which on a non-holiday week you grab rates around 200 RT. I booked our air for next year in early August through Jet Blue. The fare was just too good IMO to pass up to wait for SW to release. We got a fare of just over 250 for each ticket, which is unbelievable for Spring Break. All you can do is keep looking and think of alternative airports, like flying into Tampa. Good luck!

I was wondering the same thing we booked out of midway returning home but not leaving yet we are 3/31 still too high!!

I booked our flights for 3/13 to 3/20 as soon as they came out. We got $268 R/t, non-stop MKE to MCO. I am not watching them and waiting for a sale so I can call and get a credit for any fare difference.

I think anymore it is hard to predict future rates. If you're comfortable spending $400 PP RT, book it now.

I just booked tickets for my Feb 11-18 trip. $432.80 each after taxes/fees. There were limited flights with the times I wanted since it's about 8hrs on the plane each way for me coming from WA state and there are no nonstop flights. I watched the fares for a few weeks, and when they went up and up...and finally came back down again, I jumped on it. One of the legs of the return flight is already pretty booked so I'm glad I booked when I did, and now I don't have that part to worry about. I would be kicking myself if fares kept going up and I didn't book earlier. Then again, if fares go way down I will be partially upset...but it's better than not being able to pick a decent seat.

I think the Spring fares are higher than normal!!! We are cheating next year by taking a cruise out of Puerto Rico instead of Disney and the tix were $600 pp when I booked them 2 months ago. Since, then they have only gotten higher. Normally they are priced around $300 but, hey u only live once :goodvibes

So, moral to the story when you feel comfortable buy ur tixs or go to Disney instead of Puerto Rico it's cheaper :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

We went during our spring break in 2010. Fares from STL to MCO were about $250 in September 2009 for March 2010 but we weren't quite ready to book. Then the fares went up to over $300 and stayed there. We waited it out until December and finally bought the tickets @ $318 RT. They never did go back below $300.
