Is that a limit of people allowed (including kids)?

Is this something that is stressed?

If we booked a one bedroom, and had 3 kids under 12 would that apply?

TIA

A DVC rep just told me you can put a 5th person in but you must supply your own bed and bedding. This could be an air mattress or sleeping bag.:D

Yes, that is the limit of people allowed, including kids. The exception is that if one child is under 3 and sleeps in a crib, that child could be the 5th person in the unit. But if all of your 3 are over 3 years old, you would need a bigger unit (2 bedroom).

There are threads in the archives that deal at length with whether DVC enforces this or not, and whether they should enforce it or not. I believe the general consensus is that they should and do enforce it, but many others will disagree.

I am a family of five and they never tell me no when i book my room. I have only stayed in a studio or 1 bedroom even though i have enough points for a 2 bedroom.Dont worry about it.We use a air bed or the cool bed that fits in a bag just like the fold up chairs.

Welcome to the DIS and the DVC Forum!

Unfortunately, questions about the number of people in a room often quickly degenerate into a debate - sometimes a nasty one. This thread will probably end up locked. Please do not be offended - it's not you.

If you have some extra time and are looking for some "light" reading, you might find some of these threads on occupancy very interesting/entertaining - these are all from the Debate Forum!

1 occupant over the room limit

Is 6 in a room really wrong

DVC Bodies in a 2 BR

Amazing, how one rule matters and another one doesn't

What is the worst DIS-BATE subject matter of all time.

Published occupancy for Studio and 1BR villas is four plus one child under age 3. It is unlikely that Disney will do a bed check.

No extra beds or linens will be provided beyond stated occupancy limits.

Since this topic always evokes heated commentary, further discussion may be continued on the Debate Board.

Enjoy!

You may feel free to visit our Debate Board to discuss occupancy limits, but it is prohibited here per our Webmasters, on the DVC Board due to past issues. Thank you for your cooperation.
